Some below average performances some average no really good performances

Guiu was poor but he scored and that's what he is there to do, mukiele looks like he has all the tools but I think Defo looks like a CB not a RB

No change in what we need threat from wide areas and another CB

Positive is less games other than that not much but could of done with some positive energy going into Saturday
Less games is a negative. Need cup games to keep fringe players happy and give them game time

I agree but if we get a big injury on the wing or cm we are not going to have the calibre of player to step up
We are never going to be able to get like for like replacements coming in for starters, very few teams in the PL have that

This season it's important to get a really strong starting line up and depth in key areas - feel we are still lacking 1 more CB and at least 1 winger, then we have good depth in most positions

CM is always a slight concern as its such a key position but if Neil plays as well as he can he can play innthe PL, Enzo has a bit of quality just needs to improve his aggression and Rigg has the ability for sure

I think we need 3 more players, a CB and 2 forwards (with at least 1 being a winger)

It’s why I’ve been talking about having an acm/ 10 who can play wide rather than just a winger. That third midfielder at times needs to be an attacking threat. I think we need goal scoring quality there.

Sure that is Chris Rigg. If it's not, what point is there having him around. That's meant to be his position 8/10 and breaking from midfielder/creative force.

I see Rigg more an 8 personally. I know he did that role last year but I don’t that’s where he’ll be best going forward. It needs to be someone who is more of a goal threat, who can carry it past defenders.

While mundle is out Isidor will be a more effective left wing in the prem than a striker imo. Should have came on there against Burnley looking back. Way more of a threat than ELF is out there.

I do have concerns if our right wing options are talbi supported by Roberts. And our left wing options are adingra supported by a currently unreliable (due to injuries) mundle. Then having to shoehorn a Rigg or elf out wide at times. Just don’t think we have enough to hurt teams or change games over a season in the prem.

Obviously we’re going strong on a cb but my biggest worry is the wide attackers. Only a few days left, so going to be very busy for the hierarchy

Scores most of his goals from that side
Yep, but very different playing as the out an out winger rather than playing between the fullback and CB which is where he often gets success

He can definitely play there but I do worry about him defensively out wide

Aye, perception is always interesting. I fully acknowledge that I’m not objective so I’m likely overestimating how he played.
You may be spot on and I’m wildly out due to my bias.
Honestly don't think you are mate. Neil was one of the better players last night, but it was a low bar. Kept it moving, looked to play forward, always available. He played his own game which is fundamentally that continuity player at the base of the side who is prepared to offer defensive stability. I do wonder if folk want him to play a different role than the coach asks of him at times, hence the angst about him. Plenty were more problematic than Neil last night, but I would be looking to Le Bris and his coaches for the reasons as a first port of call personally.

Neil played well last night imo

Xhaka was poor on Saturday, and if Neil played like that the criticism would have been mental. Now I get Xhaka has had a class career and is a better player than Neil, but if people are being judged on a game by game basis then let's do it for everyone

Definitely agree we need to find a defined position for Rigg and build him.

Not to be overlooked that he was swearing bullets blowing out his arse after 15 minutes, but was running strong second and looking better.

Being so young he should catch up the fitness levels quicker so that 9(106) will have done him wonders.

He needs to be central but he needs focus on where.

ELF still looks way off too me and doesn't look himself.
The problem with him is, he’s just too lightweight and shrugged off the ball far too easily. He doesn’t have burning pace either. Roma found this, and so are we now.

I would have liked to see Isidor and Mayenda playing either side of a goalscorer , say someone like young Trey ? , last night was a chance to try it out imo.

Yeah I agree defensively but it feels like a good way of getting our goal getters on when we need one, like Saturday. Feasibly we could have him Mayenda right and Guiu across the front three. Personally I’m also keen to see Le Fee playing deeper so we can move sides backwards with more incisive passes.

This board needs to be shut down from about 21:00 on matchday evenings, and 22:00 other nights. re-open about 06:00. **** getting thrown around every evening is ridiculous.
That would be desperately unfair on @monty987 .....he only creates his nonsense in the early hours to give the rest of us a laugh over breakfast!<laugh>

His passing lines were blocked Saturday and some delivery poor but Xhaka does ping balls through lines most games. Neil can but can’t always find the space.
