The beach in Guardamar del Segura is currently flying red flags to stop swimmers going into the sea because of this beautiful creature. Two specimens of Glaucus Atlanticus, more commonly known as “blue dragon”, have been found and they have a very toxic sting, as a result of their feeding habits. Apparently they feed on Portuguese man o’ war jellyfish and store the toxin and their sting can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness and severe pain and those with underlying health conditions could be particularly at risk.

San Tejón

I am glad you are finding Seek useful. My wife and I fund it addictive

I have never heard of Blue Angel before but it looks incredible. It looks like it is made of China.

Looking it up on line I see it is a type of Sea Slug which are molluscs.

Thanks for posting.

Cheers

Ian

I think you might have been the person who suggested I download the app Seek.
I actually had the chance to use it today and it tells me that this little beauty is a Broad Scarlet.
The picture is a bit blurry owing to the downsizing of the image to put it on here.

A broad scarlet is a very different thing to a scarlet broad!

Looks a good year. Are you adding them to gin?
We probably won't. We're already Laden with wild plums that also grow behind my fence.
I'll leave the sloes there for the birds and intrepid dog walkers to stretch for if they fancy battling the bramble thicket defensive wall that I've carefully cultivated there for the last 20 years.

I like my privacy :emoticon-0100-smile
