Ekitike, wow, he's some player, so elegant and coming up with a goal reminiscent of Torres. All four goals were great, Cody with a very Cody goal, Chiesa's was a thing of beauty and Salah, seeing all the action going down the left side, decided to join in with another opening day goal. It was tough watching him on the pitch after the game. After the disgraceful racist abuse Semenyo got, I was pleased that it was him who got both of their goals. Saw the incident on a fan posted video shortly after the game. The idiot in the wheelchair pushing himself forward to get as close as possible to shout whatever it was he shouted. Witnesses confirmed that he himself got dog's abuse and was swiftly reported to the police who removed him at halftime. Hope he's banned from Anfield. Ashamed that he's one of our 'fans'.
I thought everything good went through Szoboszlai. Wirtz was barely a 6 if that. It's was a very disappointing home debut. I am sure though he will take it and be better next day.
Yeah Szob did have a good game, I was really unsure on Ekitike (mainly because I don’t know much about him and it was a chunky fee). But wow, he really is exciting. Love his throw back strength and grief he gives defenders too - nightmare to deal with and elegant to boot, really like what in seeing
I'd rather his trajectory go in an upwards direction (because it will) rather than have a stormer of a first game and tail off. Kirkez surprised me in that he's the one with the PL experience but it didn't look like it. Probably due a mixture of things not least of which being he was playing against his former team. Frimpong took up some strange positions but again, it's early days. All in all I liked the energy. Ekitike is going to be some player. He looks like he's been here for years. And .... I loved seeing so many in the long sleeves. Lots of iconic pictures incoming.
It's also Rumoured the racist threw his gum at semeyno. He seemingly has form giving abuse and throwing his gum at stewards all the time. A case of being too afraid of publicity to deal with a fool before he goes too far
I don't think it's anything to do with being afraid of publicity (meaning his previous behaviour from what you've just said). How would removing someone misbehaving and throwing gum make news? A further fan video is up showing the police escorting him out and those around clapping as he leaves. The club is trying to get over a terrible tragedy and doing it in a very respectful way, making sure it's appropriate and in keeping with the family wishes. Watching another idiot try and make a special occasion about themselves is very disappointing. I despair of people like this and the fact that once again poor behaviour takes centre stage.
What would happen in this world if a steward ejected a person in a wheelchair is tjst thry would be vilified on social media. Thry have probably been putting up with him for years and everyone around him in the area has been too. Hopefully they will all give statements and he gets a life ban.
thought Szobo was really poor today. Gave away the ball for the first with pathetic flick and then slipped for the 2nd to lose it. But even apart from them, didn’t really do much in the ball and didn’t really help cover the spaces when RB was pushed up.
There's no way he's coming back from this. A wheelchair user 2 bays along from him has said that the fella has had a ST for a long time and is always sounding off but this is the first time he's been racist. He may have special needs as Donga said so people put up with him because of that. He's been to his last game at Anfield. He swapped being part of a memorable occasion for a criminal record.
What a way to respond. Kudos to the man. The world needs more people like him, not judging an entire group by one outlier
Well I didn't just find out, I knew before the game so no surprise. I think our fans were on a countdown from kick off to see how long it would take.
They've put this dogshite out as well. Doesn't explain why the commentators heard VAR saying it was a 'Double hit', meaning it came off the player's foot and unavoidably hit his hand. Stevie Wonder could see that wasn't the case, so they've come up with this tripe to cover their arses. And with the racism incident being the only thing anyone wants to talk about, it's getting well and truly buried. Again. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Oliver is the Emperor's New Clothes of refereeing. Not just to us, either. Criminally inept, but ****ing fireproof.
As long as they all make statements. I'm sure that'll be the case. Dont let it be him seymeno. Hopefully lfc will life ban ASAP but I dont know if doing it today would prejudice a case.
Oliver is a coward. He's probably bottled it first time or was not paying attention and then made.something up. This is the same ref who sent skelly off v wolves for a break off a corner miles from goal on the basis of goalscoring opportunity and then pgmol had to make out it was serious foul play after the fact. You needed a serious slow mo replay to see the contact they decided was serious foul play.
