I will not vote Reform but like you Saf I can see where this is going, and we'll be back here in 4 years time saying we told you so, although I hope not and the problem is sorted. Same as Trump getting in the states, everyone could see it was going to happen, if they don't want the populists to win, they need to engage with the debate beyond name calling.

There’s no party for me anymore. They’re all useless and look incapable of leading a competent government. This Labour government are every bit as bad as the previous Tory governments though. I’m in no doubt about that.

I’d still prefer Labour to deal with the immigration crisis head on and to **** with their human rights but something tells me they haven’t got it in them, which is ultimately, leaving the door open for Farage.

There's an issue with immigration, and especially with undocumented migrant men. I think that needs addressing, but I also think it's being massively overplayed to create fearmongering and the classic divide and rule

I mean look at us lot, we're all probably working class background, we all want the same things for the country, but they've got us bickering amongst ourselves. And this is replicated across the UK.

Reform have exploited this the most, and now the centre ground are scared of them taking votes, so they've shifted towards their position to try not to lose voters.

I've no problem with whoever people want to vote for. But I wish people who want to vote reform would look beyond their immigration stance, and look at how they would give more tax breaks for the rich, big business, remove consumer standards and deregulate business compliance, as well as bring in an insurance based healthcare system instead of the NHS model.

So why don't you give us the facts, engage with the discussion because I know **** all about Chagos or what's gone on, is this amount (£35B) to be paid out over 99 years lease, a lump sum payment, so tell me what bits @duggie2000 , @Saf , the Daily Malice or any other rag, have got wrong?

According to comments above, official documents show the total of £35B exceeds Keir's original £3.5B.

Remembering we've had cuts due to being constantly told this country has got massive monetary black holes in it's finances and from where I'm sitting we are giving away huge sums of money according to the comments above and I'm not understanding why, surely we have a right to know.

If you’ve got time to worry about boat people and islands on the other side of the world, then life here at home must be pretty good for you.

A lot of people who have moved from Birmingham and London at the moment seems to be a trend. House prices are really cheap here so people are taking advantage of that and moving here. They are then called illegal immigrants by people who are scared to talk to them because of their skin colour.

There’s other reasons, I’d argue people should pay a small fee. One of them being it would keep the hypochondriacs away and free it up for people who need it and other issues as well, but I’ll not go to deeply into that.

But I would argue that it's because of the incessant fearmongering on social media and the politicians who want to exploit the fear for their own gain that is spreading this division.

Just a personal opinion but I think raising the pension age increases has opened a whole new pandoras box, that's had an impact on the NHS and lesser taxes being collected where people have just said **** it, I'm out. Nothing is ever costed properly, you get the costings they want you to see....bit like Chagos and Keir's underestimate.

Forcing people to work to 70 in future is going to have a backlash, unless of course people adapt to private pensions, which probably will be the future sometime after we have long gone.

Until recently numbers of migration has always been manageable. Now it’s not, the fact we have nowhere for these men to go so we are sticking them in hotels and other derelict buildings, tells you that there’s too many coming in the country and we don’t have the capacity for the numbers that are arriving here on a weekly basis.

Too many coming in a short space of time does affect social cohesion, whether people want to accept that or not.

It's rife around here, loads of people have turned up and people are just assuming they are immigrants. They are simply not, they are from city's and have moved here for the house prices. Have a chat and the accent tells you all you need to know. The sad think it's they know what people are thinking and can't do much about it so they keep to themselves instead of integrating into the community.

A few decades or so back, we had loads of londoners move further down South and we are now full up with prices through the roof, so we printed up a load of maps, telling them how to get to Wales.

They’ll be no fuel allowances or anything discounted for OAPS, they’ll be in the same boat as everyone else.

We are coming into the back end of summer now, hotel prices are expensive this time of year for stay at home holidaymakers, it becomes noticable then that the hotels are occupied by other visitors. Hotels are even shutting restaurants to build more rooms, I think it's something Whitbread is projected to do, might be others, but I see that as milking the situation. We need to find other ways, local hotels is not the answer and is seen as not acceptable, speaking generally.

Such hotels should be used to subsidise / temporarily support the genuine homeless, with families the priority..

We should have refurbished (securitised) redundant military camps, ramped up numbers of staff processing asylum applications and kept all seekers within those institutions (adequately fed and watered) until decision made...

But that would have required investment - much less money than we are now having to spend - but no licence to print money for some with 'vested interests'...

Facial recognition for all applicants so that failed repeat seekers are rapidly identified.

No paperwork? - stricter check including DNA etc to establish age, ethnicity etc.

Successful applicants allowed into society - unsuccessful deported to point of origin.

I agree that undocumented men coming here is a problem.

But what I'm talking about is the fall out that Luv is talking about, where you now have communities that are scared of each other, because we've allowed nobodies on social media to tell us that everybody who isn't like us is our enemy
