  • Total voters

Just a guess, but that's probably for children boat folk.

Not that there are many, admittedly.
It didn't mention children boat folk just refugees so I just can't belive it's only for boat hopping kids tbh
And let's not forget many of these men pose as children to stay here, grey beards an all.

Cracking fap material for aftikhar from Afghanistan tho eh

Ireland loving all the recent Enrichment they've been so lucky to receive.

Any dinghys in the vicinity of Dover should be cut up I to small shreds and burned.

Can't even cut a fuking boat up

I do agree with this actually, not sure why we are wasting money on storage facilities for this ****. I saw it said they give some to charity, which is ****ing stupid because the storage probably costs more. Stick a knife in it and dispose of.

Another master stroke from Labour

Official documents reveal that the UK's deal to cede sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius costs approximately £35 billion, exceeding the initial £3.4 billion estimate by Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The agreement involves leasing back the Diego Garcia military base for 99 years, with payments including annual funds and economic aid to Mauritius. This cost encompasses obligations over the lease period amid ongoing international disputes.

I was going to post that, what makes it even worse is that we share the base with America who probably wont share the full cost

When reporters went to Chagos to see what the local thought, the ones they spoke to claimed that they were British and the Government has betrayed them

Mauritius is also a close ally of China which almost makes the base a sitting duck

You’d never heard of Chagos until the Daily Mail started filling your head with nonsense about it. Now you’re a ****ing expert on the place <doh>

I think the vast majority of the country care, mate. That’s why ****ing reform are leading the polls. It’s literally the number one issue for the electorate.

I think a significant but noisy minority of the country have been gaslit by social media and the right wing press, into blaming immigrants for the state the country is in.

And Reform are leading in the polls because at least 32% of the country are gullible and clueless.

So why don't you give us the facts, engage with the discussion because I know **** all about Chagos or what's gone on, is this amount (£35B) to be paid out over 99 years lease, a lump sum payment, so tell me what bits @duggie2000 , @Saf , the Daily Malice or any other rag, have got wrong?

According to comments above, official documents show the total of £35B exceeds Keir's original £3.5B.

Remembering we've had cuts due to being constantly told this country has got massive monetary black holes in it's finances and from where I'm sitting we are giving away huge sums of money according to the comments above and I'm not understanding why, surely we have a right to know.

So what's the true story then Archers, why are we doing this?

Yeah, nobody listens to the rhetoric anymore.

Even the centre ground have tuned into illegal immigration and made it the number one issue for their country.

Carry on calling people thick and clueless, though. I’m sure it’s a vote winner to get people onside.

50,000 illegal migrants paying criminal gangs to come here this year is not ok. They should be sent straight back to the safe country they came from. Legal migrants are fine, wasn't it like a couple of hundred thousand came the legal route, so that says to me it does exist.

It’s also in the London Evening Standard and the Independent.

It isn’t being reported in the Guardian, though.

I will not vote Reform but like you Saf I can see where this is going, and we'll be back here in 4 years time saying we told you so, although I hope not and the problem is sorted. Same as Trump getting in the states, everyone could see it was going to happen, if they don't want the populists to win, they need to engage with the debate beyond name calling.

The Guardian is my go to paper, only because it's free. <laugh>

I might have a look at that Standard link, I don't like the Independent, they let me in then block me unless I pay, shysters.

I’m not standing for election mate. I’m still hoping Labour win a second term, but if they do it won’t be because I spent hours arguing about politics on the internet. It’ll be because they were able to restore public services, solve the housing crisis, and narrow the gap between the super rich and the rest of us. If they do that, and it’s a big if, they have half a chance of getting re-elected. If they fail, we’re all ****ed.

Anyway more important news, going to football Saturday has given me the lurgies and I feel like ****.
