Has anyone found a place to park at Coventry which is relatively close to the ground but avoids the official car parks? Want to try and get away quickly after the game and know official car parks can often be slow. I have vague memories of just parking on a side road off what I think is called Jimmy Hill Way in the past but it was a few years back. Thanks.
Sounds familiar from a few years ago...Previous visit, parked about fifteen minutes away in a free car park, straight off M6 at Junction 3.....Walked along a main road, from memory called, Bedworth Road, went into a pub called 'Longford Engine' (it might have wooden windows now) then by the side of a canal for ten minutes, before coming out next to the stadium.
I've used Burbages lane before ( off the roundabout). There's a pay to park facility next to a travellers park (at least that is what I think it is). First right as you enter the lane. P1 is £15 and just down Winding House Lane.
Jimmy Hill way gets closed after the game, for about half an hour, so avoid anywhere around there. Depending on how far you’re happy to walk you can park at Novotel or further into Bedworth, or around Keresley End or Ash Green. Beware a lot of illegals in HMO’s in the area. Don’t leave anything that would tempt them to break in if you’re parking on the street.
Also, there’s a large protest planned in Nuneaton at lunch time on Saturday, so avoid driving through there. It will be slow and busy. The A444 from Nuneaton town centre to the hospital will almost certainly be closed. Thousands expected and the protest begins there at 1pm.
