just trying to save myself the pain of 2 hours on hold tomorrow with HMRC, google doesnt clear up my issue either.
anybody on here claim mileage back through work for using personal car?
my work pays me 18p a mile then i have to claim the other 27p back through tax relief.

normally its dead easy, i fill a form in and they pay me.
they have tightened up now and want evidence of your journeys and stuff.
I spent ages doing it but i cocked up , as i do too many miles im meant to do a self assesment tax form, as my claim is over 2,5k, but thats too hard- so i amend my claim a bit and claim less then im entitled too as its meant to be easier, but this time my evidence and my claim was different amounts so they rejected it.

my main question is, im now filling a p87 form in to post off with matching amounts/evidence , but it states on the bottom of that do not send any extra paperwork with this form!! even though my original online was rejected as they need evidence.

hope this makes sense, as it bored me writing it a bit, but do i send the evidence off in the post to avoid delay, even though the form says not too?

hoping somebody has recently done something similar that can give the answer?

Do you have a UTR (Unique Tax Reference)

Won’t be a problem in the near future as you will be cycling.
