I think Man Utd won't need Vitek in January due to their ranks being filled with talent between the pipes but perhaps they might use him as trade bait in the New Year and that might be to our benefit or not. I must confess he impressed me with his control of the penalty area and his distribution, with both beating Max's performances.

This deal is starting to look a bit dodgy to me and some of the comments I have read or heard today leave me with some questions. Firstly during his first interview on BCFC site he clearly answered yes when asked about the loan being a season long deal and yet today it was apparently changed to a possible recall in January. Loaning out a player and then immediately signing him to a new 3 year contract, which will probably mean that he will only be here until Max returns from injury, seems a bit weird to me or am I overdoing my thoughts. I have nothing against Max but if we truly want to compete we will need better, but I have this nagging sense that we maybe should have looked at a longer term prospect rather than a player who might be out of here just when we might possibly need him the most.

What jars me off is it took a bad injury to O'leary for folk at BCFC to get a decent keeper in. Tinnion and co needed a kick in the balls to know it hurts. Only 1 game (Rod) but proves, if anyone needed it, that a top keeper is essential to win anything.
Q ... does the /a team play different for a different keeper? didnt get to see whole game ... but saves and interventions [where he needed to collect & distribute ] in open play [first half ] were a lesser sample! but saves were brilliant.... [5] bearing in mind we only had 23 minutes posession a very good result!
It wasn't the saves that impressed me, 1 was for the cameras, it was his command of his box. 1 great punch 1st half and 4 brilliant takes out of the air when we were under pressure.
A team can. Teams can defend higher and press higher if their Keeper commands the box and controls space outside of the box. Vitek does both and City will have more tactical flexibility. In the game versus Valadolid Vitek because a sweeping player, an additional centre back on possession thus City gain a extra outfield player and defenders stepped into midfield.
