No need for that. Still 73 runs needed. A 3-4 wicket collapse for 20 runs (not impossible at all in these conditions) and we're looking for 50-odd with the last 3 tail enders. Should have waited until 40 or so needed to be daft. Even see out tea.

he plays pretty much the same whatever the situation and in a way you can't really moan considering his record

Going well. Brilliant partnership by these 2 - brook really does look like the new KP in how aggressive he is. Takes games away from teams at times. Lucky eith the catch/6 but otherwise brilliant innings.

Root just classy as always.

Close.

Really close.

Root needs to complete this and he needs a partner

Same.for Crawley and duckett. You get 40 and you.cant complain as test match prodders will only get the same in 3 times the time.

When they really go hard and succeeds.it looks good.

None of them can defend so they might as well attack the ball.

They just have not got a solid defenvie technique.

Brook averages 57 and is iirc ranked 2 in the world so whatever he is doing works very well

Yes. Making them prod and defend would drop that average to 20. None of them have the capability to defend.

While they have the form they have to bash it about.

As I said Crawley cant defend. He is driving less but hitting more shots with duckett and looking better

Duckett is literally incapable of leaving a ball. If you told him to not score he'd still hit the ball ro block it and edge them.

Root can defend and play the shots.

Their only way to play is to hit leather off it.

In another era England would have played for a draw here. (And failed)

The only similarity to other eras is the heads dropping.

Root is it now. If he stays we win. If he goes even 50 runs is a big challenge for the remaining tail.

2 lbw shouts and then an astonishing poor flick at a ball he can easily leave.

What the actual **** root.

That could be the game.

Thst is an absolute Brian fart shot.

Think the stoppage marginally favours England since neither Smith nor Overton really got a start anyway, and it breaks India's momentum, though the rest obviously suits them.

Doesn't favour me though, as I won't be able to watch <laugh>

The new ball will either skittle england or all them to hammer it away for a few.

They have to come out today and finish not tomorrow morning.imo

If they come out at 6pm to play for an hour or 14 overs, then we're cooked. Wet ball, wet outfield, and we're scoring at one per every three overs. Just hoping we can eke out the overs now.
