I have to say ‘the lure of playing European football’ puzzles me slightly. Is turning out against an unpronounceable Scandinavian team really such a pull when the Premier League is probably better?

It may only be a few games and knocked out in the first phase.
There was once a time when European club champions were an elite version of football. I would say as much of 70% of it is now diluted. The quality of some of it so poor it is bizarre. I include some of the early champions league stuff in that too. I look at some players who have champions league on their CV and smile. Really odd. Even worse you can get knocked out of one cup and drop into another. I pick and choose my games to watch carefully.

Could get messy this.
same stuff as yesterday that their sporting director has said if they get a fee they want a transfer will hapoen, ETH just wants to not look weak imo and probably wants replacements

For those who complained about Neom + Saudi ruining football, know that we are on the other side of that argument with Leverkusen fans. Imagine finishing 1st and 2nd in the Bundesliga, playing in the champions league, and then hearing your captain wants to move to a newly promoted side in England. A lot of fans across Europe feel that the Premier League has too much clout.

It feels to me, especially with ETH’s comments about seeking important players already, that he’s getting the excuses in early for when their season doesn’t go as well as their fans expect.

Our page posted about him the other day if you fancy a gander -

For some reason this won’t open on my phone.

Can someone who can see it please tell me what his strengths are?

20 goal strikers are hard to find. It's why Liverpool and Arsenal are dropping huge fees on Ekitike and Gyokeres, why Newcastle are after £150m for Isak.

I think it's more important that our striker has a good all round game. Someone to drag us up the pitch when we're being pinned in but yes also be able to put the ball into the back of the net when a chance arises.

Saying that though, i'd love us to have someone we can hang our hat on to get us something from games we don't play well in. Maybe we already have that, maybe not.
I saw a post on insta linking Birmingham to Mitrovic for £12m. I’m fairly sure it was AI slop but it did make me think. Is he still the player he was? And if so, what would his real price (and wage) be?

I can only assume part of the attraction, for players, is financial …

… I don’t watch any European football now, the thrill has gone.
