Simple question really. If the best player for any position is fit he should play. In the case of our full backs and midfield players there seems a healthy debate. On the goalkeeper position there isn't. If Kelvin is fit he plays. End of.
Indeed. I'm in shock that people are even contemplating the idea of leaving Davis out. As I say, I think even Bart himself accepts that Davis will be straight back in.
If Bart plays against Pompey, we'll loose. His nerves will be even worse than they were against Blackpool. We should get an emergency loan goalkeeper if Kelv is out or bring Forecast back.
Not quite why everyone is worried about the game on Saturday. Yes are away form is not good, but on derby day all form stats go out the window. And Kelvin will be back. STOP WORRYING!
As I said after the game, the loan window is shut and I absoloutely don't think that the Football League will consider Bart being dodgy/under-confident as an "emergency". He's fit to take the field, so there isn't any emergency imo. And besides, i think Davis will be fit.
If fit Kelvin will play. I feel sure that if nearly fit he will as well. I have called for Bart to play more over the last couple of years, but right now the thought of him playing on Sunday isn't cheering me in the slightest. This is the one game(one of two) that means more to us than any other. We simply can not lose another game to that lot to the east of us.
If Bart had made one dreadful mistake but played OK there wouldn't be a problem, but he was a bag of nerves. Kelvin fit, Kelvin plays. However, Bart will need to be on the bench because KD is coming back from an injury. We can't risk not having a back up on the bench. Bet we get an experienced but out of favour keeper in on loan in January. Bet Nigel had a difficult conversation with Cortese after the match. Of course Nigel cares about Bart and will try and sort him out, but I'm pretty sure Adkins can make hard decisions if he has to.
I just thought for fans worried about Bart's confidence being shattered by being benched, would it really effect him worse than dropping clangers against his club's main rivals? Our keeper, Gulacsi had a mare against Leeds, which lead to him being dropped and it was fair to say most Hull fans had turned against him. However, since Basso's injury he has returned much better and has being steadily improving game on game. So I agree with the fans that say an FA cup match would be best for him. (Sorry for invading your board I've been getting around a bit tonight )
