Well @JimHeron92 @Scout73 @MadMackem77 we all had a conversation about overhauling our midfield and it looks like the club were in the same boat
Ballard will be fine in those opening games but an upgrade for LCB is massive imo, aswell as the fact they’re both injured!
Yep. I’d say we’re now pretty balanced. Not a physically dominant 6 I’d have liked but I’m still very happy with the balance
It really had to happen, what's exciting is that even though we've gone up a level (and if course so has our personnel) but the change we should see with a midfield that can function as a balanced unit could be immense.
Although I'm still struggling to work out the depth chart post xhaka (if he comes):
Xhaka/Neil
ELF/Sadiki
Diarra/Rigg?
Then if Neil goes in my head Sadiki becomes the first option to cover DM but we seem to want a 10. It'll probably make more sense once our business is done
Hopefully we getting something concrete on a goalkeeper

In all seriousness they can all play every position, so maybe there is no depth chart
Yeah xhaka had most of his success as a LCM, but I always felt that he was imposing out of possession but with arsenal being arsenals didn't necessarily have to take up many defensive actions.
Seems to have settled a bit deeper as he's gotten older and should be more than adequate in althsy role.

Just thought, isn't Xhaka another player who has been playing in a 5 back formation for Leverkusen?
I'm not convinced we will play that way but its interesting

This window is madness in the best way possible even this time 2 years ago we couldn’t have dreamt of signing a player of xhaka’s quality and now we are getting credible links to him.
My mate is texting me asking how the hell are we doing this
