I remember one of those games at RB where he pocketed the best player in the league at the time Summerville
Yeah this is the route. I’d want us to have a proper look at both. Hjelde developed really well last season and Seelt may do the same. Given Hjelde misses start of season and that Seelt has been long term keeping them until January does no harm. I just have a feeling Seelt may surprise and play games.
I've always been of the opinion that Seelt, given the coaching and opportunity can be a top class defender..he has every attribute
Absolutely. He also came though PSV and you can’t underestimate that. Coached to be calm and good with ball and to look forward. They’ve sent an almost endless stream of decent to superb defenders out. And developed countless more. Stam of course the most notable in recent memory but there’s former PSV defenders all around Europe at great clubs.
Maybe without adingra or Talbi, we don't have unlimited money (I know shock) and that's a decent chunk on something we don't need
Aye. Really good player and a great price but it’s hard to see where he plays. He wouldn’t bring the balance we need from any additional midfield/wide players. Could see him taking the absolute piss in La Liga.
Not sure where he’d fit in. Think we’ll be looking to trim the squad a bit now, loads of unwanted still on the books
I wouldn’t make him captain mind. Not sure he’ll start well in week out. I really hope he steps up, it would be amazing a local lad from our ranks smashing the league. There were about 12 games last season either side of Christmas he looked every inch a premier league player. To be balanced he was overplayed, but there were bigger chunks of the season he wasn’t much better than average and I’m not convinced about his pace or the time he needs. I really hope we see his better side consistently.
Be class to get him signed, I know some don't rate him and don't think he can step up but I love seeing a local lad in our team I have concerns about Patterson stepping up, just don't think he's developed at all last couple of seasons and GK should be a position we improve I have some concerns with Neil but every season he's improved certain aspects of his game and if he can imporve the speed he moves the ball at then he's got a chance to make it. The defensive aspect of his game was really impressive last season and while he could still add more strength when tackling i think his reading of the game defensively is really good now. Neil had a 2 month period last seaspn where he was playing at PL standard imo, he just needs to do that more consistently
On the Seelt debate, I'm still unsure on him - he's not had a regular run out so hard to tell how good he could be at CB He has the attributes you'd want in a CB and is technically pretty good. I'll be surprised if he plays regularly this season however, most of us would have said yhe same about Mayenda last season and he became 1 of our most important players Hope Seelt and Huggins have an injury free pre season so RLB can make a proper assessment on both
