No player will drop from getting £50k a week in the Prem into the Championship and quite frankly, I wouldn't want them if it was money reasons alone they were coming here. We've got where we have with hungry players wanting to prove themselves. Not has-beens.
Approaching the January transfer window, so there are bound to be hundreds of rumours banded about over the coming weeks. I've heard from a couple of places that Andy Johnson from Fulham is rumoured to be mulling over a move to Saints. I can't see this happening, and at 30 I think he is past what we should be looking for. What do you think though would you welcome him? Loan til the end of the season perhaps? Also, at a long shot, what about Gary Hooper? Pricey but scores goals for fun at Celtic.
