Not sure if people agree but I’d rather we’d sign Johnstone to compete with Patto than sign ramsdale to be the no1. (And obviously if the club see a no1 for a good price I’d absolutely trust them)

Think I disagree but just because johnstone would be a huge waste of money for a backup

I feel like ramsdale is a lazy link. He’s available and we’re publically after a keeper. I think we’ll sign a keeper and centre half from Italy/france/belgium/Germany that I’ve never heard of and I am peace with that.

the club did say they wanted a keeper and centre half in for the Portugal trip so I wouldn’t be surprised if we signed someone tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a “here we go”.

Just listening to Phil smith and he was saying his sources were saying early petrovic wasn’t likely due to the competition

Said the next steps will be GK, CB and ST that a fair chunk could be spent on the CB

ST wise the club trust Isidor and Mayenda to step up but we are clearly in the market for one (this seems like the 20m ST budget is true)

Wonder if we only get one quality CB then rather than 2 more rotational ones

I had a busy day work so just caught up

on the 2 gk’s linked today Johnstone isn’t a prem number one

Ramsdale is decent but he can’t stay concentrated (saw a video of him saying he struggles to concentrate for 15-20 minutes ) that’s not good for a team that will likely be under the cosh for long periods of time.

I’d rather look abroad but honestly if it was between them 2 I think I’d prefer stick with Patto and use the money elsewhere

I think we will sign 2, I think 1 will be proper quality and then another (potentially cresswell) thatll be high upside but who could play straight away

I could see us spending 35 million on 2 CBs. It's been mentioned how key strengthening the core is so I can't see us just signing 1 CB (that's just replacing Mepham)

I think it’s a sign if how good our business has been that Mepham barely gets a mention, he was probably high up on just about everyone’s wish lists now he’d almost be a disappointing signing

Think we’ll have a lull until next week now, not sure when they fly out to Portugal but not sure we’ll get the 2 in by then, still miles ahead of my wildest dreams at the minute though

I would think we would fly out Monday ( give the players Sunday to recover/pack) early morning training session before flying from our airport
