Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic won't have any further additions to his squad for the start of the pre-season camp in Turkey and reinforcements are not expected at this moment for the opening two friendly matches of the summer after the club decided to place all transfer business firmly on hold.

The Tigers will make no further additions to the squad until the club finds out the outcome of their appeal against a three-window transfer fee ban placed on them by the EFL, which could come in the next week but is rated highly unlikely that it will come this week before the club depart for Turkey on Sunday.

Sources have told Hull Live that the club has two active transfer lists. One is based on the club being handed a ban and, therefore, being restricted to free transfers and loan arrivals, while the other is based on their original targets if the ban should be lifted.

Adding to the forward line remains a high priority and something they have not been able to do yet, which is a major worry given their struggles in front of goal. The club remain hopeful of agreeing a deal with Oliver McBurnie, but that deal is on hold for the time being.

Westerlo striker Matija Frigan could yet arrive on loan even if the ban remains in place, though the mechanics of that deal would likely come under EFL scrutiny.

While it looks unlikely at this stage, even if the ban remains in place for any duration, City have not given up hope of striking a deal for Oscar Zambrano. Given the young Ecuadorian can't play until November, having been banned for a year, there may well be scope to make that happen further down the line.

Bringing in a left-back remains a high priority, and the Tigers still want to add in midfield and out wide, but until the result of their appeal is known, little can be done either way, and they remain in a state of limbo.

It’s all contracts from before any restrictions, the only thing that could have been problematic would have been registering him under embargo. He still would have been our player. We have no embargo now anyway.

No disrespect to the lad but if it wasn't for someone in local football spotting him and guiding him to City he would have probably ended up like a lot of working class lads from his background. Dead end job, if working at all, living his life out on a council estate. A lot of people at City put a lot of work and effort to helping to him where he is today. It just didn't happen as if by magic.

Exactly - it's not like some sort of one track computer game - there's a **** tonne of variables that are at play in a footballer's development.
 
There’s still some excellent youth players coming through. Some fair better in an environment in a decent side. KLP was useless on loan anywhere, but was far better in our side. Not many got the opportunity at the minute, due to the amount of players we sign.

I thought we couldn't register him as he cost us a fee? Maybe I've got it wrong, but I thought his contract was due to start on July 1st and our "no fee" sanction came in just before that - leaving the Puerta deal up in the air?

Yeah but we essentially signed him in April and have a commitment to pay Leverkusen for him. Maybe there could be an issue registering him, bit if a grey area. Don’t know if there’s a precedent for this happening. We will have to pay Leverkusen for him regardless and he will be our player either way.

His contract was due to kick in on July 1st,how this affects it,your guess is as good as mine.

Im not sure anyone can state with any authority what the current situation is? Add to the mix that it was rumoured he wanted out? and we'd triggered the buy to make a few shekels?
 
Apart from plugging a 5 star hotel over there, what's the point in taking the same team that struggled last year to Turkey for pre season training? At a time like this cheaper training options over here would surely make more sense as long as you're not expected to pay upfront.

Last years trip to Turkey was a total waste of time and it is one thing I actually felt sorry for Walter about. Looks like this years is going the same way.
