Late 90s early 00s as a teenager moving in to my 20s at uni you used to be able to go out midweek with 10 quid in your pocket spend a few hours at pub then go clubbing and get pretty drunk quite easily, nowadays.....no chance, everything is so much more expensive it's no wonder that young uns are looking for something else to do
Serious simple question .... what is "absolute rubbish" in that statement? What exactly should he be embarrassed about when writing that? I'll give you the £100 mill squad value if you like, although he does caveat it with 'potential'. IF they fulfilled their full potential maybe it gets at least somewhere near to that figure, but at this moment in time (which isn't what was said), and most likely in the fullness of time too it's wishful thinking. Not wanting another debate about the values as that's already now been done. But for you to write your post above, you must surely be meaning far more than just the £100 million bit. So what exactly is the "absolute rubbish" and please tell us all how you know. Ta

In 1990 average price of a pint was £1.30. On 2000 it was around £1.60. Get drunk and go to a club for £10. Only if you got pissed on a couple of pints.
Some zingers by him recently. His long rant about Mike White because he dared to ask Acun about the finances during the press conference. His rant about some journalist being ‘outrageous’ and ‘libellous’ for posting about Acun’s shocking ownership of the club.
Not as old as you but talking about this the other day with my friends, we used to go out all the time with £20, that would get us the bus into town, get absolutely smashed til 3 in the morning and then a taxi back 10 miles. Used to be £1 drinks Nowadays we would get a pint and a half out of that.
All the city centre clubs up and down the country would have £1 drink offers on a Friday and Saturday night. It would be limited to cheap **** like carling or Stella on draught and a clone of Smirnoff ice etc but you just put up with it for how cheap it was. Free entry before midnight too.
