I am sure I am not alone in this but I missed about 2 home games in about 25 years. Both of those were for weddings. I even went the day after my first born came into this world. Now I am missing about 6-7 home games per season because 12.30 just doesn't work with my shift pattern. Given how far some have to travel so many people's loyalty must be being severely tested. Big time.
Buggers up my pre match routine of walk, cigar, chips and finally pints with some of the faithful no end. It’s ****, but we don’t count.
Or alternatively match, post-match pints and a cuban Buggers up the pre-match Old Gits moaning session at the Defectors though
Just noticed this applies to the Charlton game, pain in the arse as was taking my old man to the hospital that morning before meeting around 12 30 for a pint
Tell them to have some consideration and get them to move the weddings to the Sundays....or have a bit of Steely+ action sneakily running in your jacket with an earpiece
Don’t mind the 12:30s in terms of logistics even if it’s a bit of a pain from the Costa Del Sur. It’s noticeably flatter at the ground though. I’d like to know how it’s affected results across the league if at all as I feel from a results point of view there’s a disadvantage to playing early at home but that might be a myth. Certainly from a just being a pain point of view I prefer the home games early if we absolutely must please our Sky overlords. Millwall being 12:30 just because the police want it to be is absolute nonsense.
So Preston opener remains at 3? Will the old gits start at the DW? C&S afterwards sounds like a plan too… haven’t got a ticket yet obviously, but will be staying at my son’s flat in Battersea - no rushing back to Bristol on this occasion. Don’t know why I’m excited
