Yeah mate. I never touch those types, they're made with fruit instead of hops, so are nothing more than an alcopop. Fitzies normally has 4 on, but 1 or 2 are Wearside-based breweries, which I previously mentioned are way behind their Tyneside counterparts. For a good choice of beers, there's only one place in Sunderland and that's the Ship Isis.
Get yourself round Ouseburn. There's the Two by Two, Full Circle and Almasty breweries within a mile of each other and the Free Trade Inn, which is outstanding. I went round Newcastle last Saturday and there's some great pubs around the Haymarket and just off the Bigg Market, who serve craft and regular beer and are pleasant places to drink.
