What I can’t make sense of is that surely the FA couldn’t put us under a three window transfer embargo without an investigation, which would take time and would be transparent? It would be absolutely ridiculous to be bidding for McBurnie, Barry, O’Brien knowing this was to come out?

Wasn’t it said the problems were the structure of the deal when the transfer was in doubt, would point to the loan and permanent deal not quite being aligned???

It sounds like a wise rule to be able to enforce a temporary embargo whilst an investigation takes place, to stop irreparable damage.

The way I've read It is...

It was temporary on Monday and the Club was given a chance to respond, which they did but the EFL made it permanent today?

    That’s what I think too.
I’m interested to know what other clubs we owe money too as well, I think someone mentioned missed payments to Blackpool

Yeh I'm a bit confused about that part and the media reports don't really clear it up. I can't tell if we responded a bit late for the EFL's liking or if we responded and they're essentially still not happy with what we provided?

    Oh I don’t know

If you know you’re going to be under an embargo you might as well be hugely ambitious with signings you know you’re never going to be able to sign.

…”if it wasn’t for those meddling EFL bods we’d have signed some great players”

I just don't get the panic. Can you imagine working with some of the people on here. Every time there is a slight issue they start flapping and panicking.

It happens at clubs all over the world at this time of year. Trust me, I've had to wait 6 months in the past for a League 2 club to pay me and over a year for a top flight RL club. Cash is very tight. No income but outgoings remain the same, this time of year is horrible for those running clubs. TV money isnt paid until september i think.
Acun has obviously pushed his luck with Villa and got burnt. I imagine, like most Turks, his approach to negotiations and business is arrogant. He has been a bit naughty with this one.

The noise coming out of the club is it is paid and all will be sorted. As others have pointed out why have we spent money on safe standing? Why has a seemingly credible Croation account stated the big transfer of the Croat player is going through?

People are just doing what they did months ago and throwing their hands in the air and flapping about things they have zero knowledge about.

It's a terrible look for the club and Acun needs to learn lessons about dealing with clubs. But let's just keep the powder dry for now eh, nobody has died.

That’s as may be but as things currently stand we can’t buy any players until 2027.
