From the little I have seen of Albline he is different style of striker to Mika and also crucially a different style to Wilson and Mayenda, anyone know what Albline is like aerially? as someone pointed out earlier it is something we lack in our forwards
Honestly mate I don’t know if it’s as unlikely as you’d think nowadays if I could be bothered to delve through the incoming PL transfers I’m sure there’d be plenty more. I don’t know how much of a difference being newly promoted counts as opposed to playing for someone like a Wolves or Brentford. There’d be a lot more in recent years than 10 years ago i’m guessing because the money is becoming absurd. I’ve no idea how much they played for their previous clubs but I’m sure Leicester signed a few lads from decent european clubs last season too. Serie A clubs aren’t exactly rolling in coin so if we step in and offer something like £70k a week I reckon he’ll be coming here over Roma - they already missed out on Muani last season because they couldn’t afford his wages. Whether we’d offer that is another question but that’s the price of signing good, proven players.
I actually quite like a lot of the Nantes squad tbh, each to their own but I think definitely in terms of goal contributions I would have no doubt mikautadze scores and assists more in the Nantes side than Abline did. His shot selection is just brilliant and he knows when to hit it first time and when to take that extra touch whereas Abline has other strengths but doesn't have close to the composure of mikautadze around goal.
Djordje Petrovic recently got married so maybe that a hold up https://www.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/...ulations_to_djordje_petrovic_on_his/#lightbox
Honestly both Abline and Mika are good. Happy with either. Mikautadze is further along in his development by a bit but Abline is a good player and you don't get into even the French U21s without being very good. It is worth noting that he scored 9 goals (and 2 assists) in ligue 1 last season to Mikautadze's 11 (and 6 assists) but Lyon scored 65 goals while Nantes only scored 39. I do think mikautadze is the better finisher though.
A concrete report of an agreement for Petrovic would be great. Same for a striker whether it’s Abline or Mikautadze I’m not bothered
Mikautadze is by far the best option but he’s already too high of a reach if we are being honest. He’s gonna have European football offers left and right. Abline is still good and has a lot of promise. Wouldn’t be sad if we got him instead
with Petrovic we were the only team to offer what exactly chelsea wanted, a straight deal with a sell on clause and a buy back clause Gala wanted a loan, with an option to a full time deal villa - depending of if they can shift current keeper out Bournemouth was only willing to go to 18m with a lower % clause
What's the source of this? Not sure I buy this administration agreeing to a sell on and a buy back. Sounds like a poor deal in the long term.
Depends what the buy back is. If its £20m now and the buy back is £40m that's a good deal for us. Gets us a brilliant keeper for at least a season and double our money if they buy back. Like a loan deal just much better
I dont agree mate, Patto is not as bad as half of yous are making out . Ive said it once and ill say it again i feel like he is getting badly disrespected on here. Of course id love a World class keeper for Patto to compete against, its far from a priority position for us to fill though. Infact id say its last port of call behind getting a new LW, RW, CB and a striker.
