So acun moans that our worst signings have all been manager signings but we're happy to sign players sergej wants?
I think there is a distinction to be made. The likes of Mehlem, Allsop, Ebiowei are clearly manager identified targets who didn’t work out. As opposed to players identified by recruitment staff that are approved

To be fair he said about 5 out of 10.

To know whether that's good or bad is to know how many as a proportion of our signings have been manager picks.

I suspect that given the owner is making a point of it, manager picks are the minority.

So where do Sinik and Omur get classed? Were Shota and LR really pushing for those or does Acun get to admit some of his signings were a huge waste of money too? Allsop we broke even on with the fee we got from Birmingham, and Ebiowei was a loan, so would be pretty laughable to even mention them in terms of wastes of money.

If I was being really generous to Acun I'd say that LR was behind the Giles signing - but LR was also behind the Philogene signing. Selles was seemingly behind the Joseph signing (and jury is firmly still out there I wouldn't even call him a waste yet) but also seemingly behind the Matazo signing. If Walter was behind the Mehlem signing (who cost us less than 1m and is being sold 12 months later, as opposed to Sinik..) then was he also behind the Hughes signing? Acun seems to love making it everyone else's fault things haven't worked out rather than accepting that the majority of manager led signings have actually been quite good, and that no one is going to have a 10/10 hit rate. On the other hand, Acun's hit rate with signings has been pretty ****ing awful.

Don’t disagree mate just think there is a distinction to be made re scout identified versus manager identified.

I think Acun was smarting over the loan guy we agreed a £15m promotion clause with being **** and bought statistically the best championship left back at the time.

You saw that tigers plus love in no? It was almost saccharine how Acun claimed personal victory for signing him. Tan nodding along being very careful to polish his ego ...

Except he was a wingback.

Why do you think it was a Rosenior signing when Rosenior dropped him for Jacob?

I don't get your rationale for it to be a Liam pick?

There is but I'm a bit fed up of Acun scapegoating managers for signings he thinks the fan base don't rate to justify sacking them but will turn a blind eye to the players he pushed through that have cost us a whole lot more.

Let's face it - all the big deals have all been done with the full and complete enthusiasm of the owner.

So just look at how many of those paid off.

But some would rather fingerpoint over the likes of furlong, alsopp and Lokilo.

Er did you miss the "If I was being really generous to Acun..." i.e. I also don't think Giles was a Liam pick but if he wasn't then I have no idea who Acun is suggesting LR pushed for that was a huge waste of money.

Omur needs another chance, although I have no idea where is head is at. He was a miles better player with Tufan at the club.

Was he back at training yesterday?

We need a new RB. Drameh might come good eventually but he was culpable for some absolutely disastrous defending last season, same with Coyle. I think mistakes on our right hand side was where most dangerous attacks from the enema originated.
