Isn’t that how democracy works. Make a proposal, seek feedback and then adjust as necessary. Sounds like the way it should be?
Thats the lgbtq+ version

The flipside could be spun like

Make a proposal that's is highly unpopular.

Get slapped down by your own team because it's a disgusting proposal that will end some people's lives before thier tine

You might want to look on the war thread mate, Finland have withdrawn from a treaty about landmines, along with several other countries lol.

Because their biggest land border is with Russia, who have a history of invading Finland.

I know that Ern. I was chatting to Fosse on the war thread about it....he mentioned Sucky....Sucky mentions Finland, hence my humour.

The Simon Reeve BBC programme 'journey around Scandinavia' was really interesting, especially the part about the Finns and what they do to protect their border with Russia

I think Wes Streeting was right to call out supermarkets, saying about time they promoted vegetables and fruit. It's one of my biggest beefs with supermarket apps, often when they apply discounts or special promotions, it's generally junk food, processed food. They sometimes give promotions on organics, but they are generally the more expensive range. Yes you do get instore promotions, but it's not the point, about time they gave the same level of promotion to healthier stuff. And don't be fooled by price match, it's one big con, price match always increases prices as much as they decrease them, so the overall cost of your basket does not benefit from the savings.

Those promotions are often funded by the brand to get you to not buy one of the other 20 similar brands.

But they do loads of promos on fruit and veg so **** knows what he’s on about. 3 for £6 on frozen fruit in Waitrose even and that’s a great way of getting more expensive fruits like berries and cherries in without spending a fortune and having to eat them quickly.

The promotional prices themselves are constantly going up. It used to be two for £3, now it's three for £5 in Morrisons, so where's the saving? Also it's generally a limited range not all the range, so then you are having to make a conscious decision whether to go with the promotion. Price match is a con, it is exactly what it says on the tin, price match, which means prices will increase as well as decrease, so there is no saving. Also a lot of the promotions don't apply to local produce. I'm buying fruit all the time and it's very rare you see a genuine cost saving promotion....just because the supermarkets suggest something is cheaper or promote it as so does not mean it is. They are doing the promotions to save themselves waste, but really just passing the waste on to the consumer, through clever pricing policies. ie you are often buying something you don't need and will not use within the spoil time....unless you have a massive family, then I get it.

Fresh produce is particularly volatile. Suppliers and supermarkets don’t know what sort of volume they’re going to have week to week like they will on a tin of beans.

Yeah everything is getting more expensive and that’ll include the promotional mechanic they choose to use. An apple is still an apple whereas the big branded ****e is being worked on constantly to drive the cost of production down, sometimes to the detriment of the quality of the product so there’s less the apple supplier can do to keep his costs down.

Promotions are for a lot of reasons but supermarkets get more bang for their buck on junk food because it’s a more impulsive purchase. Apples go on your shopping list and you’re going to grab some whether they’re normal price or 20% off. You don’t plan to buy biscuits but get drawn in when it’s six Penguins for a quid. The fitness influencer types say it’s best to grocery shop online as it’s easier to avoid.

Very true what you say about apples, and generally because I'm fussy about apples I'll tend to buy more the ones I like, rather than the cheapest ones. Also apples spoil really quick this time of year, so you need a cool storage space for them if you've bought a lot. I will say one thing that is often worth a quick look at is wonky stuff, sometimes, not always, there is some decent fruit or veg in that range, you just got to take the trouble to look.

Also like you say with penguins, I would generally buy what's on offer, so is it club, is it penguin, is it wagon wheels.

Been doing that for years now - my girls like to put the frozen fruit in yoghurt (fat free) either for breakfast or as a 'dessert' ... currently got raspberries, cherries and blueberries in the freezer ... great for homemade milkshakes too ...

Frozen fruit sounds rank to me. Don't have frozen veg either bar peas.

Fresh food is one of the many reasons why I'd never do online shopping as no doubt you get all the rank bits.
