    Here you go pop pickers.

I fancy this one could be feisty, and no doubt some left field suggestions like a choccy digestive sarnie :emoticon-0127-lipss

I am kicking off with what has to be a big odds on fav.

Bacon Sarnie. White bread, tom sauce.

Can't go wrong with a Bacon sarnie. Ideally crisp.

Haven't had one in ages so you've motivated me to go out and get some bacon for the weekend.

My mam always used to make me banana sandwiches when I was young. Shouldn't be nice but they were amazing.

Does donner kebab meat in a pitta bread, chilli sauce, and salad count as a sandwich?
If it does, thats my vote.
(If it was from Bridge End Kebabs in Chester le Street, that would be my ultimate "sandwich" <cool>).

Ah that reminds me we once had bacon sandwiches but had run out of butter, so used Philadelphia instead.

    Sublime.

    Banana & Ham hot dog
Take a hotdog roll, spread some Branson pickle on the inside of the roll.
Take a peeled ripe banana and wrap it in a slice oh ham, put it in the roll and top with grated cheese, heat it under the grill until the cheese melts.

Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it <cheers>

My favourite hot sarnie is bacon with either mushroom or tinned tomato, with a little bit of brown sauce, in a soft white bun

. . . . and my favourite cold sarnie is good (breaded) ham & pease pudding with (preferably crinkle-cut) beetroot, again in a soft white bun :emoticon-0100-smile

As far as I'm concerned, this has been a short thread

We know the answer is bacon.

The real question is how well cooked is it?

For me, streaky bacon that is crispy but not yet burnt is the best.

Took my kids to Beamish last summer as I wanted them to experience the north. Forced them to try a pease pudding and ham sandwich. They weren't fans.

    I hope not

I was once served this at an ex-girlfriends place, she was from Luton which probably explains a lot.
It was nice though and have eaten quite a few since then.

    My current favourite is
The Barros Luco and I always have one when on holiday in Chile

Sausage sarnie for me with tomato sauce. My other entry would be ham and pease pudding.

I've also been partial to a plain bread and butter sarnie and if I'm feeling adventurous add some crisps between slices - tomato sauce, pickled onion, prawn cocktail, something with a bit of flavour

Can’t believe I am the first to put up Fish Finger sandwich .
I also go along with bacon and mushroom.
    Cheese and beetroot.
And ( warmed in oven) cheese and onion crisps
