No. I was not aware of that. Alot of Weksh people can trace a Flemish ancestry due to William the Conq. Glad that you and Imp can engage in decent debates. Often don't agree with Imp but his posts have raised the quality of discussion here. A marked improvement from the days of Os.
Maybe because I don't consider myself right wing at all. I am a mish mash that has to decide who to vote for (or if to vote at all given current options) based on the best worst case of trade offs. I'm also a realist and increasingly anarchist in this "caring world" that continues to fall into line the way the corporations want us to. I will not protect their increased cabal based on nice deflective words...........and I can also admit I am wrong unlike other people. Lastly I have pretty thick skin. Takes a lot to insult me. Some bad days, yes I can bite foolishly and snap, but the other 99% of the time I will just say FFS and take a few minutes away. I'm not a black or white, either or person. Believe it or not I can accept other people's viewpoints even if I vehemently disagree with them.........just as I might say some (not many) on here do with my viewpoints or my reasoning. At the moment we do seem to be back in the pre Corbyn area with Labour and Tory a disaster zone and Reform the only last resort anarchist "reset" option....which I probably would have done with Corbyn first time round if the "man of principles" hadn't forgotten his principles and pretended to be in favour of remain.
I really believe Trump is so full of himself , that all this “ I will stop the war between country A & B “ is with the sole purpose of Getting himself awarded the Nobel Peace Prize .

All fairly realistic until I noticed the massive hands. Trump has little toddler hands plus I doubt he's able to ride a bike
I don’t know how you change a Labour Party leader these days (used to be something like 20% of the MPs going for change) but with there being more than 120 said to be voting against the Welfare Bill, this threat might be something that could cause a groundswell of support for change. Especially as it is mooted that a new left leaning party could be formed in the not too distant future.
That first one’s got me thinking… I didn’t realise that if you drank too much beer you end up the same colour as it.
Where is it mooted that a new left leaning party could be formed? Presumably the motive behind forming such a party would be to divide the left and open the door for a Farage government?
I’ve seen it mentioned on Facebook several times, by politically connected groups, and also in the Daily Mirror. Yep it would split the left vote, just as Reform has split the right vote, so if it does come about the new party and Labour might have to work together to keep the right out. As I see it, unless Labour can substantially improve the financial situation of the majority of people they will be out of power anyway, simply because Starmer is determined to undermine several very good policies by implementing headline grabbing own goal policies. And even if they do substantially improve the lot of the majority, they will probably still lose the next election because of the lack of media support. Who knows, maybe a new party with genuine left of centre policies would blitz the rest at the next election. So many people hated Corbyn yet so many polls, including Tory voters, showed massive support for several of his ideas. Ideas that liar in chief Starmer said he would follow through on, when campaigning for the party leadership.
I did a search using 'Is there proposal for a new left wing party in the UK' which came up with links to a meeting last year Jeremy Corbyn addressed and an April 2025 update by David Aaronovitch which suggests there may well be an announcement in the not to distant future. https://www.theguardian.com/politic...dresses-meeting-new-leftwing-party-collective https://davidaaronovitch.substack.com/p/coming-soon-another-new-party-of I'm at odds with much of Starmer's policy being a big supporter of PR and of using tactical voting. Anything to keep reform out and reduce their influence.
