We don't use a ballot system. It's first-come-first-served, but done in stages with the priority ranking being 1. away ST holders, 2. home ST holders and then 3. members. Only the odd weeknight/cup game goes to general sale. I think Man U and maybe Liverpool use ballots.

Can't blame our Club that the oppositions ground is too small to take a decent crowd, we should be allowed more tickets.

    Your are a prick.
I have been to every away this season, I had to leave work early due to not having a reception on my phone, drive 30 mile and get to the ticket office by 3 o clock to see the woman infront of me get the last two tickets.
Is it fair that people who don't support the club up and down the country and who have time on there hands and are or don't work can get a ticket before the real aways supporters? There should be some prefrance to the people who spend time and money on the club
And don't give any crap about its unfair on the less well off or we wouldn't have season tickets and executive boxs, I chose to spend my spare cash on what I want and if that's following the Saints all over and us who do should have first bite of the cherry over the casual away supporter

All seems a bit ridiculous this really. To the original poster I think we can all understand your frustrations and perhaps an away season ticket would be a neat solution to your problem.

However, people who are saying that those that go to more away games deserve the ticket more so than others are being totally narrow minded in your view and thinking solely from your point of view. There are plenty of Saints fans (me included) who would love to go to more away games but unfortunately there is no chance of me getting the time off work to go to as many as I would like. There are a huge number of others in a simular situation whether it be work or money issues that mean they cant get to all the away games, this doesn't make them any less of a supporter than anyone else and most certainly doesn't mean that when the away games come along that you should get a ticket before them just because you always go. How is that going to help support and grow our fan base when we make Premier League and could take a much larger allocation? My advice would be to stop looking down on other fans who aren't as fortunate as yourselves and think of this from both the clubs and your fellow Saints fans point of view.

The away season ticket sounds like an interesting and probably useful idea however.

I really don't think he is. He's merely stating the obvious. Your disappointment is understandable, and your eternal Away support is admirable, but it doesn't mean that the ticket office are in any way inadequate if they sell out just before you get to the front of the queue. You might as well blame the team for doing so well that it attracts the extra support and requests for tickets. Perhaps, as someone else suggested, you might get yourself an Away season ticket. Save money and a 30 mile drive at breakneck speeds in order to be too late.

The Ballot system is fair for big games like Pompey, but it's probabley an expensive and time consuming job to run a ballot for every game. I was fortunate on Friday that my boss was away and I could spend 30 minutes on the phone to order tickets.

It seems ridiculous that a new and modern stadium can only fit 2,000 away fans but there you go. Everyone who has a ticket is a season ticket holder and loyal supporter to Southampton.

It might be new and modern, but it (currently) only holds just under 22,500. So 2,400 away tickets (I believe we've sold roughly this) is about right.

You can hardly blame Brighton for not building a 30,000 or 40,000 seater stadium - right now, they'd never sell it out! They are however able to expand it to slightly above the capacity of St Marys, and should they ever cement themselves as a Premiership club, then they will surely do so.

I completely agree with you 'were coming for youuuu'. Surely the more loyal away fans should get first pick. i have never ever seen any advertising about away season tickets!! and yes we can blame the ticket office it is there job to sell the tickets yes, but this should be done in the fairest way.
