When I read the headline I thought that this story was about Marti:- Sacked EFL boss working at airport while on gardening leave Former Swansea manager Luke Williams has shown his class by taking up a new job while on gardening leave. The London-born coach was sacked by the Championship side in February and put on gardening leave, but he's now been spotted working at Bristol Airport, helping disabled and limited mobility passengers get around the facilities. Williams had only been out of work for four months. But he's now taken up a job at Bristol Airport But he's now taken up a job at Bristol Airport. Pictures emerged on social media of the 44-year-old at work in airport uniform, and despite scepticism over their authenticity a source close to the manager confirmed to The Athletic that they are genuine. Having managed Notts County and Swindon Town before taking over the Swans in January 2024, Williams is likely not short of cash. Yet he has long discussed his relentless work ethic, having left school with no GCSE and living hand to mouth coaching children in Hackney for £1.50 a head. He combined multiple jobs on his way to professional football, admitting: “Sometimes I would work 20 hours off the bat, get three or four hours’ kip, back to work.” https://talksport.com/football/3312...ce=sharebar_native&utm_medium=sharebar_native

Saw this the other day. Nice story. Doesn’t need the money but doesn’t want to be twiddling his thumbs. The Athletic published it in a clickbaity ‘look what this pleb has been reduced to’ kind of way on Twitter. Did well at Notts Co who have themselves just appointed a new manager along with announcing an insane Nourry 2.0 organisational restructure full of analytics that will end in tears.
Speaking of which, when is the club going to make the announcement. It's difficult to tell what is fact as opposed to gossip, click bait or so-called pundits telling us whet they think. Either Stephan has been signed or he hasn't in which case what are they waiting for?
A theory I’ve just made up but maybe bumping Cifuentes’ compensation into next season i.e. next month. Purely a guess. Or being super optimistic someone has poached him finally and they need to wait until next month to announce it.
But they don't. We don't know how long is left if in fact notice has ever actually been served. Assuming it's just hardball they will pay him off for the balance of the period he is entitled to. If it's not , ie they have convinced themselves they have good evidence of gross misconduct, they won't pay anyway and will wait for him to challenge them in the Courts. Either way there is no excuse for not telling us by now whether we have a new manager.
I am most certainly going to manage my expectations for next season - mostly downwards. The new guy will come in, talk the talk and big up the club and the plan. We might even make a good signing or two. Been there before way too often. I'll wait until the 10 game mark before either getting excited or, arguably more likely, depressed!
