Florian Wirtz has admitted he didn't expect his next club to be [HASHTAG]#LFC[/HASHTAG] as he revealed how talks with Arne Slot and Richard Hughes persuaded him to snub Bayern Munich and make the move to Anfield.

️ "Sorry for the long wait! I just thought it was the right point in my career to make a next step. Of course I wanted to get to a club who is the top three in the world. In my opinion, Liverpool is one of them.

️ "I just saw myself in the best hands in Liverpool. I was really convinced by the people here, by the idea, everything that the club offers me was really good. In the end, it was also easy to decide for me to come to Liverpool.

If we are to buy a striker it is not going to be the one that will go and play for AFCON in January 2026 . That would make Alexander Isak suitable expect for the price

Hmm. I like him, but reports are that he's demanding a starting place. Unless we're offloading Ibou because he won't sign a new contract (sad, but understandable if we're getting rid for that scenario) then I can't see how he starts ahead of Konate. Presumably though, if we're letting Quansah go and strategically offloading Ibou, we have another CB as well as Guehi lined up, and hopefully a HG lad? Branthwaite would cause ****ing ruptions. :emoticon-0143-smirk

Even if we could offer a starting position, I wouldn't want us to give in to a demand like that. Every player must earn their spot in the side.

very much doubt he is "demanding" a guaranteed starting place . I would though naturally expect any incoming transfer prospect enquire what role the manager sees for him prior to any agreement .

Konate is always in and out so he’ll get his chance and will have to show he’s undroppable when it comes.

I do too, but £50m for a quite decent CB is a bit meh. Then again, we're paying an HG tax, I suppose.
 
We want to have over 60 games next season.

There's i hope 8 cl league stage games then 2 last 16, 2 qf, 2 sf and 1 final. Thst 15

There's 7 in the fa cup.

There's 6 in the league cup.

That's 67 games. Obviously as you lose in a cup the games drop off but you'd like 60+

There's no way we can go play 60+ with just konate and vvd.

We have gomez right now so if guehi wants to sign then sign. If he wants assurances then go to Chelsea.

Chedlea have a 20% sell on for guehi so palace refused 70mil last year and are now in a 12 month left scenario but got the fa cup so they need to be sensible and do the best deal they can.

Exactly the same scenario we are in with konate. We have to move him on this summer if we have any inkling he thinks like benedict Arnold.


In any event guehi is a midget so.makes zero sense unless you try a 3 at the back

I'm sure he was running the contract down and would be very happy to play in Europe for palace but he has no intent of signing another.

Palace should be moving him on. But we will see.

I'd much rather do put another 20 to it and go for zabarnyi but even he is not tall enough.

Yes, one. I marked both as I don't know which will go. Neither in truth would do much bar be carried through games in the prem at this point.

Midfield is piss weak but that's 5 of last year's first team at times.

If we can get a 9 to replace nunez and think about how really to cover salah for the season it's going to be fun watching
 
Think too much been made of Robertson last year. He was no where near as bad as people made out. He had a couple of stinkers but prob hasn’t helped that he’s had no real competition for 5 years.

He started 30 games for the title winners. Hes not a bad player and if he rotates he has a lot to offer.
