I'm like B&W, I'll reserve judgement after at least a dozen games. I've no idea of the style he likes to play, I just hope we don't go down the road of sitting on a 1.0 lead like we used to before LM was here.. Signings and players we lose will be interesting..
Lot more negative to him on here than OTIB. Seems a popular choice on that site. So RR is basing his fan base on him and his son. He wanted Edwards who amassed one point on away games last season. People forget he took over Nathan Jones work to get them up. Had a really good squad and was part of the reason they got relegated this season.
Hogg. Turned our season around last season when he stood in for Manning. He knows the players and our set up. Next Question ?
I agree on the piece about Hogg, he did really well when he stood in, I’d have been happy to see him given a go.
First impressions gives me hope, good personality, pressed the right buttons but we expect that, I don't know enough about the bloke, his history is mediocre, I'm not very impressed with the dynamic duo (Jonboy & BT) but the decision is made, of course he deserves our full support and will make judgements on his opening gambits and team performance,
I have all but given up on Bristol City as they are travelling the same road as they have done so many times before and hiring a manager/coach who had only less than a year at Barnsley with just junior teams prior to that move. In all honestly I should at least give the guy a chance but I fear for the worst because if we don't hit the season running with a strong squad and good tactics we could very well part company later in the season. I suspect he will have very little say in who he wants and if he relies strictly on you know who for help I suspect his frustration could get in the way of a smooth campaign. From his face he looks very stern and bossy but perhaps that's just what we need to boot the players up the backside and get the results we so badly crave. Another interesting season lies ahead of us and I think the chances of us meeting, or exceeding, last campaign's finale are very low because our new guy will take time to evaluate what he has inherited and try his best to fill in the gaps - which are many. What will happen with Mayulu, Armstrong, Twine and several others who aren't up to snuff at this level and who will be gone, but more importantly will we be allowed the cash to improve the squad to suit our obvious needs? The kind of talent that we are currently looking at are lower level players who might be below the quality needed at our level and I hope that's not where we are searching for the dream team.
What was interesting was no Tinnion on the conference. JL said Technical Director a few times not Brian
OITB is very positive about Struber. So are JL & BT. Apparently Struber gave a great presentation at his interview. 'I'll work with Brian and very keen to use the academy'. Music for our zero ambition board. 'When can you start Gerhard' ?
