The more I read about transfers, the more it looks like we'll struggle to even put out a team if all the rumours of who is moving actually materialise (they won't).
Everyone is missing Trent's intentions. He's only playing for Real Madrid so that he is able to invest more time trying to convince Bellingham to move to Liverpool,
Chiesa being linked more heavily with move back to Italy. Shame on that one, seems a really nice bloke and has some real quality when he did play
As you say it's a shame but I get the sense he's physically not cut out for England. Never looked fit over the season and when he did play he was easily knocked about. Although he did look like he still had the instinct of a goal scorer, but I don't think he'll ever get back to where he needs to be to play the demands of the Prem.
Good or not... For whatever reason he had, Slot wasn't using him- it seems more of a shame keeping his wages on the books and his bum on a bench than it does letting him go to Italy and receive a fee. If Slot was going to use him that might be different.
100% he should move on. Hopefully recoup a bit of the fee and just wish him well. I think he said he came not fit as didn’t get a pre season. Was catching up fitness wise then got injured so when came back was having to double catch up. Could tell he has quality, took the goal lovely in cup final and had some great other chances in other games where defenders got last minute blocks on. I think he probably could have been used more but like others in Elliott Endo Quansah, slot wanted and could afford to play a settle 11 for the final few months to get the title won
Yeah. £180k a week is reportedly 3 x more than Diaz earns. Nice bloke, and he was the star of Euro 2020 4 years ago, but let's be honest - he doesn't look half of that player now. But as much as anything, he arrived 10kgs overweight, albeit with an injury we already knew about. But he took 6 months to lose half that weight, and never really seemed arsed about getting as fit as his 2021 version, injured or not. And above all else, as you say, Slot just doesn't fancy him.
That's the bit I don't understand. Why did he buy him, sold as seen, so to speak if he didn't think he could use him?
Maybe he thought he could rejuvenate him somewhat. Or maybe in the chaos of getting a new manager and replacing most of the coaches he didn't pay enough attention as he should have. My theory... He was this year's Balotelli. Slot didn't really want him but the club panicked that it would look bad not signing anyone so they forced a deal through for whoever they felt would come. He was a token purchase intended just as good will gesture to fans.
Ekitike, so frankfurt paid 3.5m euro to psg but after 15 goals this season and 4 last year he's now got a 85m price tag. Age on his side but any chance of maybe picking up these types of players and loaning out perhaps for a handful so we can not have to spend over the odds.
