how are the teams chosen for the tournament? Do you have to have won something or are some just invited?
auckland got in due to winning the oceania champs league Auckland are semi professional Some of their players didnt even get paid time off for this tournie Australian teams play in the asian champs league and didnt do well enough Some asian and african champions And then they basically shoehorned in as many big european teams as possible Basically Its bollocks
Miami we're chosen because Messi plays for them. Ticket sales were poor so they made them cheaper and the game they played was a bore draw 0 - 0
Tickets weren't selling for the $300 they wanted, so they've massively slashed them but still not selling many, to the point where it's reported theyre going to move everyone to the side opposite the camera to give the illusion that it's more popular than it is. That is, unless the Daily Mail is full of ****, which ya know...
I watched England u21 v Slovenia u21....Wrong choice!!!!....Seems as if England want 6 good chances to score a goal...Unfortunately, we only got 5 decent chances.
Tried to watch PSG v Atletico but it was such a slow pace (probably due to knackered players and the heat) it was really dull. Switched over to Soccer Aid which was much more of a laugh. Shouldn’t be like that really.
yea, it was played in california at 1pm in june it was absolutely roasting and both teams had just played 45+ game season but they get paid an absolute fortune the players suffer and the quality of football suffers personally, i wont watch another football game until our friendlies
Same here. The players must hate it, they just want to be laying on a beach somewhere. I think fans need a break as well and we come back refreshed and excited for the new season, with stupidly raised expectations and talk about whether to book hotels for the play off final now or leave it a few games.
They have pulled those stunts at sporting events years. HDM always printed pictures with empty seats for City games but artfully missed any empty seats for FC games and always had a crowd in the background.
