Exactly. It's easy to see it from the buying club perspective but not the selling club. How is it an attractive proposal for a player to leave on a free?

Only thing I’d imagine saying is, if not going to play Robbo as first choice, you can save x amount on his wages by letting him go for a free and the been such a wonderful servant etc.

Pretty lame argument though.

Nah. Save the wages and sell him.

If atletico want himnas a cl team and a team getting money out of the world club thing then they can pay.

It's the simple principle.

A completely different, light hearted aspect on this - it's hard to see Robbo playing in the blazing Spanish heat. He has skin that doesn't appear to tan and always looks to struggle in the sun.

Back in the 90s or earlier, long serving players were often allowed to leave for free as a good will gesture for their service. But with how the football world as gone and the money now involved, it is very rare to see now. I doubt Robbo will be granted a free move, but doubt we'll demand a lot for him either.

Food on your mind?

Just a thought - how many 1st team starters would be too many to lose in one window? With Trent already gone and possibly Robbo, Nunez, Diaz and Jota (aware that those 3 don't all start together) all in the mix for leaving, wouldn't that be too many, too soon?

Depends what you class as starters. I would say it's the first eleven, I'd say we have a regular group of about 14-15 players that if class as starters.

In answer to your question, 2-3 is manageable, any more is a risk

Doesn't look like Diaz will go (unless there is an offer we can't refuse). Rumours he's to sign a new contract, so who knows. Only club that were interested were Barca and they have no monies

Haven't seen anybody interested in Jota, so doubt he'll leave (again unless it's a Godfather moment)

They have an odd set up in Spain.

They'll be playing at midnight if they could but then thr Asia games time is noon.

It'd be funny seeing him drop.

Trippier didn't last long either so imo this is him hunting a pay day then back to celtic or some other "dream" crap.

I dearly hope both he and trent and looking at us with envy next may.

I said starters because, as you say, we don't have a fixed first 11 but more like 14 players. I'd probably say losing more than 2 could be a problem.

Tbf Robbo hasn't actually gone yet. It's still all social media talk.

I said to or three based having already lost Trent, plus Robbo is likely to go shopping with at least one of Nune, Jota or Harvey
