Liverpool close to appointing van Bronckhorst as replacement for Heitinga on coaching staff. (P. Joyce)

Don't know anything about him other than he's Dutch. From what you say, he's dropping down from manager to assistant?

Know him as a player surely? Played for rangers Arsenal and Barca. 100 caps for Netherlands?

    Coaching career

Was manager at feyenoord and won them the league before slot did it. Was assistant for few years before taking over.

Did ok at Rangers as manager replacing Gerrard but couldn’t compete with Celtic in the league and most recently did 6 month at Besiktas but didn’t go well - signed Ox on a freebie!

Guess it is a bit of a step back but maybe advantage for us as has had those experiences - maybe similar to lijdners going to city. Trust slot knows him and believes can do decent job

We're led to believe these poor millionaires are happy to just have a job - see Rafa and Ljinders, from our side but plenty of others.

    Look at Robbie fowler

Nobody has ever taken him seriously. Not once. He's gone for jobs and wants to work in footbal but he's never gone and got a role.

He has a rep from the 1990s. He's never dispelled it.

Am I right in thinking he work as part of our coaching network at some point? Striker coach for the youths?

But yeah, I'd love to see Robbie in the dugout as assisted manager (ignoring actually ability here)

Yes. He did a little think with a few other ex players for talking to youths not a proper day to day coach

Not looking bad is it. Wirtz false 9 of Jota is out? Maybe we need a striker..

    We 100% need a striker.

But yeah, this is looking very good.

Szoboszlai can cover macallister and wirtz better than jones ever could.

Macallister can cover gravenberch better than endo, although neither are quick.

Diaz and gakpo can fight on the left.

Robertson can come on as can Bradley.

I'd love to see us loan quansah out to prem team rather than sell here. He just needs games.

A striker and we have to be competitive in multiple competitions

    Exciting.

You could even line this up as a narrow 4222 formation to allow those full backs to rampage forward.

    Alisson
    Frimpong konate vvd kerkez
    Gravenberch macallister
    Szoboszlai wirtz
    Salah Diaz

OK, slot could not attempt that but it's a possibility.

When we go 235 with the ball do we see kerkez and frimong going narrow or so we think slot has something new.in.mind.
