Did anyone watch the pens BTW?

Extra time was really about protocol waiting for pens but once the conman was benched Portugal were really comfortable.

The Portuguese keeper for the final two Spanish pens stood as a clear angles he could only dive one way.

Both Spanish players went towards thst side and he almost saved the first and did leave the second.

Morata being morata.

It was so obvious on tv that the keeper was at an angle otwa4ds his right and the takers left.

They were both right footed and just hit thst way.

Spain led twice in the game and passed it to death as usual

After their fanbase's reaction to Nuno it'll be interesting to see how they take to Frank. He does set up his team to start off with a hard press when the situation warrants but in the big games he tends to set up with a low block.

They need to buy in. That's the main thing. If there's a cohort that were abusing fat ange but now supporting him then they could just destroy frank.

For me the spurs squad is very much capable of competing for top 6 league. Tactically fat ange was useless.

If they could shift son on to Saudi and use some money to actually improve I think spurs could be really good.

Lijdners has joined city as new assistant manager.

Seems a bit of an odd one after spending years with us when were main rivals but is what it is.

Seems to massively divide opinion from - must be great at what he does or Klopp wouldn’t have kept him. To - he had far too influence and results took a downturn when he got more involved and his managerial stints show he is lacking something.

Joined by James French, an analyst who's been with us 13 years.

Just goes to show, you can't trust the French.

he's adaptable - that's what Spurs need. They have some excellent players, but they can't play a one-style-fits-all approach in every game. If they use their CL money well I think he could get them back in the Top Six.

Top 6 is a stretch. I’m not sure how many of their players get into any of the current top 6 teams

Vicario - no
Porro - possibly
Romero - no
Vd Ven - yes when fit!
Udogie - no
Bissouma - no
Bentancour - possibly
Maddison - No
Son - No
Richarlison - No
Solanke - No

So this is how i see it.

Vicario. Absolutely not. That's one improvement
Poro. Absolutely.
Udogie. Absolutely
Van de ven. Absolutely
Romeo. Not great but not thst bad. I'd scharr is top 6 so is he.
Bentancur. Maybe.
Cm is needed
Maddison. If fit maybe
Johnson lw. Marginal.
Kulu Absolutely.
Solanke. Probably.

But top 6 is more than individuals its about team and there's huge talent and potential there plus several young players too.

For me its not about individuals and stars but about how you put it together.

They have enough to put either a 352. 343 or 433 together for Frank and be a really impressive side.

But I said also with improvement and I would agree keeper would be one of those improvements 100%

All that matters is the team the individuals don't need to be that good if they improve the whole .
The obsession with individual / stars is a blind alley as if you create a great team everyone is considered a top player / good player when they may well not be .
