The contract would not have exactly been pushed under his nose and he would not have been forced to sign it there and then. He would have had plenty of time to ponder. The fact he even would consider it and wrestle with his moral code would have surprised me. A resoundingly instant 'no' would have been my bet. He must have known that the shiny moral pedestal that he built himself would have been pulled from underneath him. And youd think an extra '0' on his bank balance would not have been worth the ridicule and embarrassment. But obviously, to him, it was. Basically, he ended up making himself look like a right twat. Ive no time for him at all.
I dont think hes got the body type, Dembele was truly unique though to be honest and would set a high bar for many a midfielder.
I kinda wonder if they’re a bit of a mess tbh. Massive squad with some square pegs in round holes. Little chance of keeping the whole squad happy. It wouldn’t totally surprise me if they underwhelm next season.
I wonder what they’d rate Greaves at now. I thought he was quality at Hull but not sure how he performed overall last season for Ipswich

my wiki scouting says he was only signed by Marseille for 12m last year and seems to have played plenty. You’d think even with our prem money he’d be a stretch
