This argument would probably have more merit if your European record wasn't so tragic.
For all your years in the CL/EC your best result in it is the same as Spurs and Leeds and worse than 5 clubs.
Our European record is poor for a club of our stature
But I'd still rather be in the CL than the Europey.

I get it, a pot is a pot.
But I don't want our club to be competing for the Europey pot or the Conference pot.
It’s kind of embarrassing for them to end up playing in it but once you’re there and winning a final you’re going to enjoy it. Like Birmingham if they’d won the stupid EFL trophy thingy. They actually bottled the final.

But to win the Europa League would add European pedigree and real history.
Imagine the day out abroad and winning the final.
Surely being a football fan is about memories?

I was at Wembley when we won the Checkatrade Trophy against Sunderland a few years back.
A minor trophy for both clubs but over 80k went and it was a fantastic day.
Difficult to beat those memories as a fan.

You'd get stick for dropping down a level but to cash in with Europa would give something to build on.
In no-mans land really in the league and champs.
Better than most but not quite good enough to get over the line.
Yeah, we need to take the next step and actually win one of these top comps.
Being the almost club isn't enough.
It’s why Conference league is a great result for Forest. The club misses out on the riches of the Champions’ League and maybe they don’t sign/retain players of the calibre they would but for the fans there are still going to be great trips and a good chance of winning it or at least going far. Far rather follow the club to random bits of Slovenia and Andorra for lovely comfortable wins than get trounced by Roma or Porto.

Yeah this is brilliant for Forest. A comp that they could do really well in, rather than getting chewed up in the CL.
