Hopefully something Luke can address (unless it's been contracted for another x years). Using a station hotel (or any hotel for that matter) in a city centre - it's beyond crazy.

Unlikely. As I understand it, the Council had no input into the arrivals despite trying to object, not just at the use of prime tourist sites, but at the additional strain on resources.

This is spot on.
The Council were told it was happening and objected strongly, with support from lots of other organisations and individuals too, but it went ahead regardless.
Private company delivering it so it’s not even just needing to appeal to Govt either

Plus it’s nothing to do with him and his powers anyway

Exactly the same happened to me, I ended up in a pub on analby road, horners maybe??? It was rough as ****!! The mirror in the toilet was made from kitchen foil. Proper old school **** hole, I quite enjoyed it tbh!!!
I had a cancelled train and went in Horners for a pint wearing a decent suit and carrying a briefcase.
Everyone seemed to think I was someone’s lawyer and trying to find them! <laugh>

I enjoyed it too

I remember walking round Hull Royal Infirmary in a suit and tie. I kept getting stopped as a doctor or consultant , even some nurses panicked when I walked in - the feeling of power was awesome . Same used to happen at BP years ago as they never knew if you were important LOL

..
Hope its better spent then the £300k the council gave to the people behind Papa's fish and chip shops to open up a franchise of Wendys on Jameson Street selling takeaway burgers.
Hull City Centre needed that, a matter of yards for McDonalds like a hole in the head.
Actually a tap house in the railway station is a good idea. Shame the adjoining hotel isn't full of tourists and visitors to the city who might actually use it.
The one in Sheffield Station is cracking .

Once walking on Withersea sea front after a funeral in the old suit with two others. Group of kids shouted “Detectives” and legged it. Pissed ourselves laughing.
