World wide talent - huge numbers obviously but with him and Frimpong both arriving hopefully easy to fit in. Be really interesting see where plays. Generally played in that inside left channel in leverkusen formation with wing backs providing the width. Seems like probbaly more false 9 for us with him and szobo rotating that front line in a front 4 when pressing. His goals and assist stats are brilliant but his take ons in Germany are top and his winning ball in final 3rd also top.
Promo videos always look good for everyone, so taking with a pinch of salt... but he seemed have a bit of Luis Suarez wizardry in the box with his ability to move around and through people trying to defend against him. As for position: A more modern take on the 4-4-2 diamond perhaps with 21st century versatility for the full backs/wing backs. Florian down the centre at the attacking prong with Szobo/Macca behind him and Gravenberch helping out the centre backs as Frimpong/Kerkez take turns attacking up the wing. Salah as a wide forward on the right- and someone else a wide forward on the left (I think Nunez would be better at this than the central role he's always played for us... but he's going so Jota or Diaz pushed wide on the left perhaps?)- the two forwards play a more modern, almost winger position when in possession (and the other forward going central)- rather than the more rigid centre forwards in a 4-4-2 back in the 90's.
Obs take with a pinch of salt and I’m sure if he joins he’ll be paid handsomely (rumours around 200k a week) but it’s nice if true that his mind was made up by talking about football and tactics rather then money.
I personally have no clue as to his position but from what I'm reading by those who do know, he's a classic 10.

I do agree there's scope to do so and I think I am on record as saying about 80? Mil net due to last year. Most of all, the hope is to put in players to build the side around for the future. Vvd and salah just buys us a season or two. Players we are being linked to give us a safe to build around and are all plausible first team options. Unlike some fat messes we have a nice first team to improve and prepare for the next 5 years. I do hope that the senior players can pass on that drive and ambition, getting rid of the ego might actually be a very good thing in the end. The senior voice in the dressing room cannot be I try when it suits. Frimpong is 24.and will be 25 in December. Ideal Kerkez is 21 and will be 22 in November (I'm less sure about this guy, there's huge spin out of his camp and zero from our reliable hacks) Wirtz has only just turned 22 this month. Szoboszlai is now 24 and will be 25 this season (october) we could move him to rw, play him at cm, play him at lw. Ultimate utility player Macallister is 26 heading for 27. Prime. Ideal leadership candidate if he stays. He's a young James milner in his attitude to work and desire. Gravenberch has just turned 23. Lovely player who can only improve his stamina levels. That alone would a great outlook towards the future. Konate BTW also just turned 25 I'm less gone on this guy compared to others but when really fit and minded by vvd he does the job. Gakpo only turned 26. He is severely under rated at times. Why? He gets little support at times on the left. Finding how slot intends (if any of it is real) to use wirtz and what striker we could add to this lot. If we can add "all of the above" and still buy a striker it will be a team of real possibility. (Because it still has 3 genuine world class players and leaders in alisson, vvd and salah to drive it)
