Are Spurs not relegation candidates at the moment? 38 points from 37 games and 17th in the league.

Playing youngsters for a run of games in a weakened side and then not showing them the light of day in a stronger side is a madness imo.

Not just due to the lack of consistency and constant disruptions to their development, but neglecting to give them the chance to play alongside better/more experienced players denies them the opportunity to learn and grow...thus presumably negating the reason we signed themselves youngsters in the first place.

Very true. Just another failure from Ange to add to the list

And Aston Villa and Newcastle will fight it out to be champions while Arsenal will be mid table. Thanks for illustrating why 10 matches is nowhere near enough to be significant

What about 37 and being 17th?

We’re extremely lucky the gap between the Prem and Champ is widening as the last two seasons the promoted trio have gone back down. A “normal” season and we’d be in serious, serious danger.

This is damning on so many levels.... Not just the points tally, but the 'goals for' tally which many have used as a justification for the teams consistently poor performances. And all that over a period when the much- lauded injury crisis had largely abated.
    Damning!

And thank you for finally admitting that the first 10 games under Ange are totally irrelevant and his points average as manager is therefore woeful.

On your logic the promoted teams being relegated is now a normal season as it has happened twice running.
I've explained many times while drawing conclusions from insufficient data leads to the wrong decisions.

I've not admitted anything of the sort. Using his first ten matches to 'prove' anything is a mistake, as is ignoring them. Using all of the data gives the best information

It’s not insufficient data though, you just try passing it off as such.

17th in the table is relegation candidate form.

I've posted the statistics which show it is an unusual event but it really isn't enough to draw firm conclusions from.

Doesn’t it matter if it’s unusual. Tottenham are/ were a relegation candidate this season.

What do you see different about next season (if Ange stays) that means Spurs won’t be just as bad or even worse next season?

No we were not...because three teams were so much worse.

We will likely have fewer injuries, the young players will be older and better, we will further strengthen and we will get more points per positive goal difference because the current season is a massive outlier on that measure.
We will continue to have the sixth best squad so with even an average coach we should finish 6th.

I think no one can know, but I suspect if we were in actual danger of relegation then different team selections and different performances would have happened. I don't think we were ever going down.

Yes so much worse than us that 2 of them won at our place!
