I don’t even want to watch football anymore it’s becoming an absolute shambles. When you’re challenging for a ball in the air you use your arms for leverage, just because he looks doesn’t mean he’s intentionally smashed him. If he wanted to elbow him in the face surely he would’ve actually generated some force.

You can’t do **** all, they’ll be expecting you to float in a protective bubble before long.

Disagree mate… stonewall red card… if that happened against one of our lads we would be screaming for a red

Aye because our fans cry on about owt every game, every time someone makes a fair tackle everyone around me screams foul :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It’s not dangerous imo. It’s clumsy, why does that have to be a red card? He’s led with his arm, as does pretty much everyone challenging for an aerial ball. It happens so many times every game but a slight bit of contact and the red is straight out. If he looked and backed into him then smashed him in the face with his elbow, then fair enough but I think a bit of common sense should be applied.

I’m sure if Chelsea think it’s “ clumsy” then they will appeal.. assuming the Premier League thinks it’s Clumsy, then that red will get overturned…. But I bet they won’t appeal, and if they do, it won’t get overturned

Doesn’t matter what Chelsea think unfortunately, that’s just the nature of the game now. It’s soft as ****e in my opinion mate. Just like red cards getting dished out as soon as both feet leave the floor, studs are up etc. People whinge about how boring football is becoming with the slow build up, sideways passing, playing out from back etc but there’s no physicality either. The rules need an overhaul because it’s killing the game.

How can people say “promoted teams need to just try and survive with direct football not play nice football” when you can’t play like that nowadays because every time you back into a defender it’s a foul. Every time you go shoulder to shoulder it’s a foul.

Yep, it’s only going one way too especially in the prem with VAR. I’m almost glad we haven’t had it for our matches yet I know we’ve had some shocking decisions against us but I think it’s give and take I’m sure we’ve got away with some too. I’d much rather it’s like that than over-analysing everything and forcing the ref to change his mind from what he’s initially decided on the pitch.
