They're better than Newcastle I think. They've been in 4 competitions most the season and have more depth by a margin. I don't like them at all though.
All valid points but we're in the box seat and I wouldn't trade our points and games with any of Chelsea, Forest or Villa. The other games don't matter so long as we do our bit, despite what some are worrying about we've won 7 of our last 9 (and only lost 1). Of course we can blow it from here but that's on us, I'd be more frustrated to be in the position of Villa, who can win all their games and still not get top 5. I'm sure there's going to be twists and turns but if we miss out it's on us, not other results.
I don't think they're better than us, we're comparable teams who are capable of beating anyone at the moment. They invested heavily in January and it'll be interesting to see what they do next as although they're ok for FFP etc it sounds like their wages are now over 100% of their turn-over (this may be alleviated due to champions league this season but it's horrible for the future). It was a bit of a gamble and if they finish outside the top 5 things will have to be shifted a bit. I think there's going to be a lot of movement at Villa this summer and rumours are one or two of their players need to leave to free up money/wages. We on the other hand should be able to invest a bit this summer. For us and Forest top 5 is a chance to build further. For Villa and Chelsea it's a bit more of a financial necessity.
I guessed there would be twists still in this. Would be no surprise if Chelsea won tomorrow an’all. However I still wouldn’t say we’re not going to qualify. Some odd results will still happen.
The sending off was late in the game and Villa showed real grit. They will win their last 2 games, so the task is now even clearer.. I was hoping more results would go our way, but unfortunately it's beginning to look like the toon will be one side to miss out if they don't beat Chelsea. Oh well.
Not weird really, we faced them when they were in the middle of a run of great form. They've been poor for the last month or so and are drifting towards an "ok" end to the season in a limp manner. It's like Chelsea beating Liverpool last week, it matters when you face a team and what form they're in. We've got Everton to come and that was an absolute home banker a few months ago, not looking as nice now. No excuses though, got to do what we have to do.
Not actually true though is it. If we draw tomorrow we'll still be 4th in the league and with Chelsea and Forest having to play each other may only need 3 points from our last two games. That route would rely on other results which would "probably" be ok for us so the true point is that if we fail tomorrow we put ourselves into a position of either a) needing a result away to Arsenal or b) relying on another team messing up. Let's just win it and not worry about all that stuff.
Bournemouth were incredible mid season then have really fallen off, basically they were playing out of their skins and couldn't sustain it
