Que sera sera Whatever will be will be We’re going to either Eastbourne or less likely at home to Maidstone Que sera sera
Went to the Torquay game today, crowd of over 5700 and only 280 Boreham Wood supporters. Fair play to them, they didn’t stop singing all game and disappointingly the best team on the day is off to the final!
I took the trip down to Torquay to watch Borehamwood play there in the FA Cup (Missing us lose to Vauxhall Motors). Borehamwoods Weatherspoons must have been empty that night, the whole town seemed to be there.
Are you a Borehamwoodian? I’m going to go to the final assuming I can get a ticket which should be doable wherever it is.
Grew up in Edgware but a lot of my mates were Woodys so would take the 292 up there as a teen. Lived there on and off through my twenties. Was mainly drunk in the Green Dragon. I missed their last play-off at Wembley, will have to see where this one is.
Yeah I was away for that too. Had a lovely sunny day at Sutton for the semi-final where all the local reprobates made the journey. The high street gets grimmer every time I’m home but still a reasonable range of pubs depending on whether you want a quiet pint, a cheap pint or cocaine.
Wellington lose at home to bottom of the table Perth Glory. It’s beyond a joke now and Italiano must walk.
The only thing thats changed is that in the 90's the last two normally meant spending the evening in the same pubs as the Arsenal team.
Greetings from what was today a not so sunny Cyprus, dodging thunderstorms through the afternoon we headed for the biggest match in the short history of Pafos FC. Four points clear at the top they met their nearest rivals and last year's champions Aris Limassol needing a win to clinch the title having led the league all season. As is typical in these parts of Europe there was a frenzied atmosphere of expectation as the match began and it wasn't long before it took off with an early goal to set them on their way. A 2nd goal nearing halftime had the place rocking and a 3rd early in the 2nd half from leading scorer Jairo started the celebrations as the match then descended into a niggling and foul ridden contest seeing a total of 13 yellow cards in all with a 4th goal rounding off an emphatic win. Having followed the club since our first visit here 20 years ago it's an amazing transformation in the past few seasons from a yo-yo club to one that will play Champions League football next season. A note on the two teams tonight, there wasn't a single Cypriot in either team's starting line-up. Pafos have had up to seven Brazilians in their match day squads throughout the season and with links to partner clubs in Dubai, UAE and Latvia have serious backers and clearly are looking to make a mark. Having won their FA Cup last year earning them a place in the Europa Conference League they reached the last 16 before losing to Djurgarden, that earned them over 5 million Euros which will seriously enhance their status over here. Anyway, I'll raise a glass to them before heading off into the night...
First time in two years Celtic fans have been allowed in....was just as bad when they hosted Rangers a few weeks ago. Both clubs have some really scummy "fans" who need to move on from 17th century politics. I've lived here for 25 years, and some of the things that go on still amaze me....I have no time for either club Rangers vow to track down thug who threw glass bottle on to pitch during Old Firm clash ... and condemn tifo display depicting Graeme Souness holding shotgun
Sad bastard I am I’ve put on the last half hour of the winner takes all match to get into the playoffs between Gateshead and Southend. GH need the win to overtake Southend. Fan favourite Macaulay Bonne up front for Southend. 0-0 now. Wealdstone winning but needing Dagenham to concede to stay up.
Me and my mates used to go to Wealdstone or Harrow Boro when QPR were away when I was in my early teens, always a good day out
