Thursday 1st May 2025. Premier League Cup. 19:00 ko. Southampton U21's v Brentford B. 0 - 1 Morgan 2 Minutes. 0 - 1 HT. 0 - 2 Avenall 54 Minutes. 0 - 2 Full Time
Just watched the last 20 minutes of the half and Saints seem to be winning on possession. Brentford seem to be playing 5-4-1 when we have the ball, so not much space in the box and the final ball not picking players out. I’ve been quite impressed with Bragg’s passing through a packed midfield and he seems to be looking to pass forward at every opportunity, which is a novelty for us, based on the way the first team plays.
Sadly we lost 2-0, conceding in a very Saints like way, letting a player running between numerous players without getting a tackle in and them having an unmarked player at the back post to side foot home, albeit with some power. Bragg continued to impress and played one delightful chip over the left full back to get Abu in behind but difficult to say how good he is as Brentford were happy to sit back and give him a lot of time and space whilst they crowded the box, winning pretty much every lose ball. Would like to see him get some time in pre-season as he looks very much like another Flynn Downes type of player.

Thought so. Good luck to the lad but I'm not bothered about what he achieves anymore. I would've respected him more if he had signed a deal then left a season or two later.
Very true that's why I wish the lad well. I'm just not bothered what he does now he has left but to be honest I'm not really bothered what most of the ex players do once they have left. There are the odd exceptions like Fonte, Morgan ,Yoshi and Prowsey. These type of players have given their all for the club.
Anyone visiting St Mary’s this evening for the u21 play off against Fulham? Will be a tough test and Fulham will go in as favourites.
