I don’t know if this is good or not for us? We simply have to rock up with a mammoth performance tomorrow.
This is the same person who was claiming we were in a worse position a couple of weeks back because even though we had games in hand all that mattered was points on the board. You even said a team with one point more than us was better off even though we had two games in hand. You're as consistent as Trump. You also add that you can see Villa dropping points away to Bournemouth - I agree. That means the most they could get is 67 points. That means if we win our home games we finish above them even if we lose 47-0 tomorrow. I think we've got a chance tomorrow and I think we've got a chance away to Arsenal but they aren't the games we "need" to win to get top 5. Win our two home games and we're fine, that hasn't changed. 68 points is enough (more is better of course).
We have a game in hand not the other way around. if we were behind with games in hand that would be different. What I said was that games in hand don't count until you've won them. Ragardless you should know the drill by now.
I actually stopped doing it after our long run of 10 games and it went tits up, so I started again and we won the final and started another run. Riding waves probably, but it's not the time for me to take risks.
If we win tomorrow then I think all talk of "if we finish top 5" kind of goes out of the window realistically. We'd have 3 games (two at home) and none of them are too scary, indeed given that Arsenal play away at Liverpool next weekend then a win tomorrow could have us going into the match against them whilst being above them in the league. All that said, it just doesn't feel like the kind of match we tend to win. I'd snatch peoples hands off for a draw and if we get that it's a huge point. It would mean two wins in our home games takes us to 69 points - the actual maximum Villa and Chelsea would be able to get (and for Chelsea to get that they'd need to beat Forest, who could then only get maximum 69 points themselves). Given our respective goal differences a draw tomorrow + 2 home wins means we can't finish lower than 4th.
