It is this exchange that sums up my feelings about the whole thing. Everybody involved is doing their best on this and yet the two tier conspiracy lot will hound the government no matter what they do. You can hear the emotion in Jess Phillips’ voice, but to Reform this is just a political point scoring exercise.

I will get back to you on this. I haven't had the time to give it the response it needs.

But just a quick comment. If being boring is a criteria for banning posters can we line up a few more for expulsion? The ones who bang on about Trump, Musk, Vance, Greenland, Canada, Mexico, Gulf of America, tariffs, nazi salutes, doge, Tesla, Ivy League, every single ****in' day since he was elected. Worth a mention for the issues that concern us here in the UK but I really couldn't give a rat's arse about doge. I now know stuff about the US I really wish I didn't.
Yes, I know I don't have to read it* and believe me I try not to, but it clogs up the board with irrelevant bullshit. It really does lower the level of debate. I accept that our own government are an embarrassment that no one wants to talk about, but surely that has to be better than US politics day after day?

    * in the same way that people don't have to read Osvaldorama's posts.

This was meant to be a quick comment but turned into a rant, now I'm late for bed.

So many different topics have been touched on over the last week. Not sure that you have contributed anything to the breadth or depth of any of them. In fact, you have had ample opportunity to get stuck in and explain your views on some big topics in UK politics - but as usual refuse to engage beyond the odd ‘incredulous’ comment on what others (maybe me?) have said.

I find all your whinging quite insincere.

This is the response of a man who claims nobody engages on British politics. Crocodiles tears are your specialty.

I haven’t delved into the details of why the power failed, owing to having been literally in the dark as a result of the loss of power.
My electricity went off just after midday, maybe 12.30, and came back on at 01.00 this morning.
The additional impact on the loss of power was that it also took down mobile phone signals and, on my rural urbanisation, it also took out the water supply, as the Urb is dependent on water being pumped through the system.
My internet didn’t come up at the same time as the electricity, but is now working and the only report I have read is on the BBC website, in which it mentions that a cyber attack has NOT been detected, although it is still early in the investigation.
From a personal point of view the outage highlighted how dependent we all are on technology for every day life and for information.
The mobile phone structure being down stopped me from contacting my sons for information, plus they had sent messages to me that weren’t received until just before the electricity came back on.
When going to bed I put my light on so that it would wake me up when power resumed, so I could then check the freezer contents to see if they were still frozen or if I would have to bin the lot. All is good.
    Two positives from the outage.
I read a book from start to finish in the day and secondly I had noticed the light bulb in the downstairs bedroom was damaged - the glass was coming away from the metal screw in part. With the power being off I was able to use a pair of pliers to unscrew the metal part of the bulb.

Reports from Spain saying that 100% renewables failed as the wind wasn’t blowing and it wasn’t sunny enough. They simply ran out of power. Net zero my arse.

You've a choice of babysitter, Lee or Jess. Which one would you entrust your little darlings with?

    Tricky.

I watched this Louis Theroux documentary last night, the ultras are acting above the law which the collusion of the IDF and Israeli police. It's sickening especially bearing in mind the recent holocaust anniversaries.
    https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-...theroux-to-do-something-hes-never-done-before
"By travelling to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Theroux is revisiting the subject matter of a documentary he made in 2011. That film, The Ultra Zionists, concerned a clutch of Jewish people who – propelled by religious nationalism – were infringing on international law by building their homes in Palestinian territory. But, 14 years on, he has returned to find that the settlements have accelerated. The settler ideology has found itself gaining political traction. What was fringe has now become mainstream."

I don’t understand. Are you upset that Trump won’t be taking over Canada any time soon?

Did I hear right yesterday? It is said the the Earths molten core is on the move, shifting the magnetic poles, Perhaps this is the cause of all of this "Climate Change" and the increase in volcanic eruptions, or is it just another conspiracy theory put about by so called experts? The truth being that planet is simply cracking up and we haven't got very long to go.

Shame this did not happen in August as we would not have had to endure this season.

Everything is on the move, always. The earth’s magnetic field reverses polarity every 100,000 years or so, but so long as we are still protected from solar radiation, that shouldn’t worry us unduly.

Best estimates give earth a couple of billion years in stable orbit round the sun. Whether humanity will last that long is another matter.
