I feel a bit for Clarke for Ipswich, promised a dream and sold a nightmare. Well done Ian Harte, glad you've got £££ at heart rather than your players interests.

probably could have gotten a move to a top 6/8 side in a league on the continent who flirt with a title in a lesser league or even European football in one the non champs league comps and still be handsomely paid and most
Importantly started regularly

say all you want about signing for Ipswich for money and i totally get it but he signed for a team that play a formation he doesn’t naturally fit in

Jack Clarke has had a season in the premier league and paid a much greater wage. I don’t think he’s regretting the move anywhere near as much as we’d like him to be.
Agree with this. Still only 24 too, plenty of time to have a cracking career, could even turn it around at Ipswich

I don’t think he’s good enough for that. Ipswich undoubtedly a bad fit from a style of play perspective but I genuinely don’t think he’s top table premier league quality. This is as good as it gets for him and I don’t blame him taking the opportunity when it came

I think they’ll lose McKenna and fall off a cliff personally, certainly don’t see them running away with an auto spot

depends who they keep. If they can keep most of squad and McKenna they’ll be fine. I reckon Delap is only one they’ll lose. I think McKenna may go to Spurs tho

he isn’t a premier league player, agree with that

doesn’t start left wing for anyone 17th or above, maybe man united haha

but definitely could have gotten a move to a European league and be playing every week.

it would be interesting just purely for my own interest and being a nosey bastard if Ipswich were the highest financial offer or if the offer in combination with premier league and ability to remain in England topped the other offers.

Additionally there will most likely be a relegation wage drop so wonder if salary was disproportionately front loaded to account for that.

Clarke will only thrive at Ipswich if McKenna leaves or he drops the current tactic. Still baffles me that they thought Clarke was a good option for that left 10 position.

agree but I reckon he’d still find a way in the championship. Albeit not as much as a cheat code as he was for us

Delap goes and they’ve got a former championship golden boot winner in szmodics as replacement

Clarke arguably best left winger and phologene and Hutchinson to

the centre backs greaves and O’Shea ante well regarded in the championship

so ye they’re pretty solid but think the Ipswich journey is 90% McKenna

and with potentially Southampton Leicester Sheffield united, Sunderland, Wrexham, Birmingham, Coventry, boro

i just don’t see them going again, it’s Lutonesque, steam ran out of their 3 year journey

they were destined to come back down and go again and that’s arguably want they’ve bought these players for but the management appointment is make or break

PL table is mental this season. Just a shame the 3 bottom sides are hideous, not competitive at all

I still stand by my point, the move wasn't in Clarke's interest it was in Heart's.

I'm not blaming the lad for wanting to play at a higher level, he was one of our top players, that speaks volumes about our current squad and us playing in the premier league.

But, he needed to go to a team where he was given a decent chance of playing and in a system that suits him. Ipswich didn't offer him that.

The problem is that, if a team as poor as Ipswich can't give him game time them surely he'd get less at a better team.

Perhaps he's just not good enough for the PL, if he is then a PL club will buy him in the summer ...

... I think we all know that won't happen.
