I don't agree that it's must win. If we lose though saturday does become a must win, but it will be for Derby too. Whatever happens against preston we must not lose against Derby. It looks like it's going down to the final kick of the last game
Away at Pompey (safe) who score for fun.... no thanks... this ball less shower...

Is funny Selles gets lots of criticism for his starting line-up but most fans seem to disagree with the starting line-up.

I'd go with

Pandur

Coyle - Egan - Hughes - Drameh

Alzate - Slater

Kamara - Gelhardt - Joseph/Burstow

Pedro

Lincoln? Palmer? Crooks? Amrabat?

All odd signings who, although each have had their moments, don't contribute enough in a consistent manner.

Crooks is obviously unavailable on Monday but are any of the other three going to dominate the game for us and be the standout performer?

Our squad has a handful of forgotten men (Burns, Jacob, Vaughan, Sinik (more lost than forgotten I guess)) and then there's the long term injuries. We're really threadbare.

I don't envy Selles actually picking a side which is going to dominate in an attacking sense from what he's got, never mind motivating them to actually do so.

Our best chance is to defend well (at least we're capable of that) and hope to nick a goal. We're due a bit of luck.

That's a depressing scenario though.

It has been said many times, our recruitment has been scattergun at best

Taking Portsmouth and Stoke out of the equation. These are the fixtures of teams around us
Cardiff v Oxford
Luton v Bristol
Plymouth v Coventry
West Brom v Derby

Ironically Preston...5 pts from the last 18, could be late candidates for zee drop....Unlikely, but here's hoping. .

Check prestons manager and their fans reaction to their game yesterday

Their manager wants rid of half their players
He basically said they are disgraceful

I don't know why Jones has been left out recently but he needs to be back in for this one. I just have a horrible feeling that this season is mirroring the Premier League season we had when we had the likes of Sunderland and Burnley at the end and just fizzled out with a whimper. There's no point sitting back with 33 year old Pedro isolated resulting with us having no attacking threat , Selles needs to set us up in a much more positive way. Kamara needs to be in, and maybe go a bit crazy and put the 39 year old for one match on the other side, if he runs out of gas early it doesn't matter if we are 2 or 3 up

a home game 4 home wins all season not sure what will happen either way big game and selles saying we need a united front on Monday players and fans
Players mainly though. They (along with the chairman) have got us in this mess. They need to take responsibility and somehow
dig us out

I was told they sold out, but you never know what the term 'sold out' means these days. The RL derby was supposed to be sold out yesterday but there were empty seats even in the away end. The bowler hat thing rings a bell, and remember last time they came here on a similar occasion, they were very noisy in and out of the ground, especially in the pub. Big day out for them coming to Hull it seems. Remember one saying to me in the pub last time, 'Bit of a ****hole Hull innit'? I asked how long they'd been here, and reminded him that I had actually been to Preston myself about a dozen times. His mate piped up and said 'we've just got off the train' then bought me and my mate a pint! But must stress again they were very noisy and I don't think it was all through drink at that time in the morning.

Think the reason for empty seats in away end was there is unreserved seating in that area so they have to leave 10% empty. That, and reserved seating in home areas was why previous derbies were restricted to 23,500 though they have never sold that many. Because of trouble the attendance has been restricted by the SAG and police to 21,000.Though surely there can’t have been any trouble as no one has been in court for any at recent derbies. Even though it featured, with pictures, on the front page of the HDM before quickly being swept under the carpet and forgotten about.
The biggest crowd of the weekend in Hull will once again be at the City game.
