It's not even new: in the very early days of the Premier League they had halftime acts for the televised games, which seemed to be Right Said Fred more often than not

So with the PL getting 5 slots then we
have a more complex format than 2011-12
(it seems PL 4-5 could end up in the EL
if the "stars are right" ) .
Yeah I’m not certain but I think they’ll allow 6 from one country in the extended format.
So if Arsenal win it and finished 6th and Spurs or Utd won Europa then 7 clubs from England would be in the Champions League. Crazy
