It’s why data alone doesn’t work for me, also the data of his goal scoring shows he’s not a top level striker.

He works hard and has good parts to his game but he’s not good enough at the essential thing which is a big problem.
Unless they're a freak of nature like Haaland, modern strikers need to be more than scoring goals, for example H's playmaking ability was equally valuable to us as his goalscoring, while Firmino was in a similar boat to Solanke as he wasn't going to score many but was such a terrier he could get the ball back if they lost it

But due to our lacklustre press he isn't doing that, nor is anyone else in the team really, which is casting him as a poacher - but since our way of creating has taken us back down the road Conte had us on two years ago and teams remember how to set up against that, Solanke's reduced to a guy who wins us set pieces one time out of the five or six he's fouled

Stats tell it all.

The team who are now relegated, had near equal
KPI values to Spurs save for attempts on target.

The biggest issue is subbing players off to rest them for Thursday came close to backfiring, as every single sub was a visibly worse than the player they replaced

If we did that when leading 1-0 against somebody like Palace or Brentford, let alone the upper end of the table, we'd have likely lost two points

Minimum

i guess a wins a win in our position, but I can't say that I enjoyed it, the one thing in the game that truly made me smile was wiped off by VAR deciding that having taken so long looking at it they had disallow it!

The other thing of note today is that Porro probably played his way into the side on Thursday with Udogie most likely to miss out.

I fell asleep in the second half.

Turgid, dire football against a shockingly bad opponent.

The fact that they were 1 goal from a result, so near to the final whistle, is damning. It changes nothing and any decent team will beat us.

I assume that the 2nd half was an exercise in energy conservation, but it was extremely tedious.
They were there for the taking and we risked the win by being too negative and dull.
No idea why they subbed on two enormous strikers and then didn't use that height, though.
