Isn’t the point that if we win every match we qualify for the CL, so we control the destiny? Only four teams can currently say that, and there’s five spots available.
Yes, but none of the clubs competing will win all their games and its highly unlikely that Forest will implode. Newcastle are capable of losing on Monday and not winning vs Palace. If they win them both it'll look a bit better, but until then we're 7th with work to do that other sides have already completed, and that's the bottom line.
No, I like this situation. We're 1 point behind Villa with 2 games in hand and a much better GD. Villa and Chelsea both have Europe, City have big injuries and Forest just lost. We've won the league cup and no Euro distractions and can go full throttle at the league. And that combined with a good run of fixtures coming up.
No? I never said you can't like it? You can like the situation sure. You said this was a good result, so I said we don't really know that until things unfold. If villa and forest end up finishing ahead of us then it's a bad result you see.
Oh right I get you.. Yeah sure you can like the situation. It was kind of a weird one. Any result could be seen as good but not ideal.
I'm not a fan of the fact we're playing Monday when we already played a game less. Then forest go again sat and us the Sunday. Just feel like we're unable to apply pressure at a key time.
I like the way the it's leveled up the 3rd to 7th league. We're in a great position to go all out for this now with the run coming up. Season is already a success but the league is very interesting right now.
It's basically just people finding reasons to convince themselves at this point. It's just as possible to present an argument for Villa City Forest or Chelsea. We have to wait and see and it'll become fairly clear very quickly I think.
I don't think it'll change much either way tbh. If they land champions league it'll make next season harder and add a few million and nothing more. Fast forward a few years either way and things will still be starting to cook.
Levy was the chief blocker for us as his arse was twitching the most. karma is now stretching his hoop and it will never get back into shape.
I thought my point was obvious, it was that yesterday the results were good for us. 3rd to 7th is pretty wide open now and we're in a good place to go for it.
Newcastle have a chance, along with Villa and maybe still Brighton looking at their fixtures, but I'd still rather be in Forests position, and Man City are still favourites along with them and Chelsea.
